I think I saw somewhere that they had permits open to do one in Gilroy, but not sure what happened with that.

+1 to Santa Clara (City) and their amazing owned utility. Lots of options and retailers could support this.

At least SoCal and NoCal have plenty of other chargers available. I'm right in the Central valley, Tulare co. and the infrastructure sucks here.

We just moved back here last year right after my husband retired from the Marines. We charge at home so it's not a problem now. But before he retired we lived in SoCal, it was a struggle every time we drove down here to visit family. EA chargers were always down or long lines at the local walmart. Same situation at the EA charger in Bakersfield with people charging to 100%.

I'm not sure how long we'll be here in this area but I'm excited for the planned RAN and SC coming to Fresno. It'll still be about 45 min drive for me but at least i don't have to drive to LA or San Jose for service. It seems the Central Valley in general is just always overlooked

The Rivian Adventure Network chargers at Christiana Mall, just south of Wilmington, Delaware, are doing a brisk business this morning. Five of the six stations were in use by green Rivians. Four Forest Green Rivians and my Launch Green.

I could understand if it's a hotel. Why zero DCFC?

The Wawona Hotel is closing 2 December 2024 for extensive renovation. There are a good number of AirBnBs in the area. There is also a large campground in the area. Plus the usual Yosemite amenities of trails, river, views, and trees. You charge while doing other activities

Just got back from staying at the Wawona, and with the amount of driving necessary to go to Yosemite Valley and Glacier Point, and topping up for the drive home, the Waypoints were really helpful. I won't lie, I felt a bit smug that I could charge for free in multiple spots in the park.

Seems odd that there is no RAN in San Jose, and nothing planned. Rivian has corporate offices in San Jose and Palo Alto, but the app doesn't even show Waypoint at either.

One could argue that San Jose has lots of other L3, especially with Tesla SC now available. But with the new referral perks, a bunch of folks will have free RAN charging. But SJ folks will only be able to take advantage of this on trips to LA or Tahoe.

I live in Marin, so I am covered (Corte Madera).

I live in the San Jose area, and there is definitely already enough DCFC capacity here, at least for now. (I wouldn't mind more trailer friendly / pull-through capacity, but RAN isn't guaranteed to have that). Rivian has limited resources for expanding RAN, so just in my opinion, I'd rather see that expansion happen in more remote areas, like near national and state parks, or other outdoorsy destinations. For example I'd love to see _anyone_ put some DCFC in West Yellowstone, or on Whidbey Island (near Seattle).

Slightly off topic, but Rivian is hiring a RAN Program Manager. Implying some level of future investment and improvement, but hopefully it also means massive rapid expansion
