It is official... effective this evening, anyone can go onto the Tesla website and buy a (non-foundation series) CyberTruck with an estimated delivery of October - November. The 2 million reservations translated into fewer than 50,000 sales.

I’ve had 3 reminders of FS and now non FS. Every day passes I look at my R1T and see a design that not only makes more sense but one that quite frankly is aging better.
Long story, but I sold my R1S QM when we got the CT Foundation Series invite. Wife really wanted a CyberTruck and I liked the weirdness of it. But the more we looked, the less I liked. After the initial reviews hit the street, and I said "no." I went back to Rivian and bought an R1T DM.

Fast forward six months and my wife got a chance to spend an afternoon in a CT and hated it. (Expensive bullet dodged.) We are very happy with the R1T. For our needs, it is the perfect blend of utility and comfort and practicality. I just wish Driver+ did not suck. Otherwise, it is the perfect vehicle.

So funny. I need to check in on that annoying Jeff guy on facebook to see if he’s ok. He kept hyping up the CT saying it was going to put every truck maker out of business with its millions of orders.

The gullible people who would buy the truck have been exhausted. It's not practical enough for most people to want to drive something like that around. I'm not surprised in the least bit.

Drove by the Santa Fe Tesla dealership and counted at least 20 Cyber trucks on the lot.
It seems their two million wait list has evaporated.

It's interesting how many I am seeing in Wisco....also interesting how many are wrapped. It's more than I would have thought. I wouldn't drive that thing if someone literally paid me to do so....but I see alot of them already on roads for whatever it is worth.

Every time my wife and I see a CT we discuss what the hell is it good for. Still haven’t found the answer.

OK, that's the trigger to get my $100 pre-order fee from 2021 back :)

If Tesla sent me a non-FS invite literally 3 days earlier than they did, I probably wouldn't be here today. But I dislike how even now the specs are changing/slipping. That huge $16k-extra range extender that's supposed to get the CT to "470+ miles of range?" It's now 415 miles. Like, less than a stock Dual Max.

I'm glad I took a pass on the CT and went for an R1T Tri instead.

I got my invite about a week ago. So 3 years on a waitlist saved me a week or 2 of waiting.
Anyone know how to get my $100 back?

If, if Tesla had stuck to their original CT pricing, or even launched at prices somewhat close to those original prices... it could have been a huge hit. But when the first CT's produced are $125K... that's a long way away from $39,990

I wanted to buy a truck for my hobby farm. I was about to pull the trigger on FS, but I couldn't fathom spending $100K. I canceled FS (lost 1K deposit) and purchased a fully loaded 2023 R1T that only had 14K miles. The previous owner took excellent care of it. I got the full-service record history from Rivian after the ownership transfer. It's in Mint condition. I paid $62K for a $100K vehicle that's almost as new. I'm glad I didn't drink the Cybertruck Kool-Aid. I'm used to driving performance sports cars. I'm not missing my Porsche at all. R1T cornering is way better than CT or even Porsche. The suspension could be improved - I'll get this double-checked with Rivian for my peace of mind. Steer by Wire might give CT an edge, but who cares when I can do 0-60 in 3.5 secs and have 410 miles range and tow 11,000 lbs. The best part - the kid loves it so much. Access to the bed through the gear tunnel makes it so entertaining for the kids. My red R1T is officially named Clifford. I don't think CT would have brought this much joy and also saved me money. Now I can use this money to buy a nice John Deere Tractor! Unless I see any major red flags in the future, I'm keeping my Clifford for several years.

Let all those FS buyers enjoy their CT. I'll buy one from them after it depreciates 40% in a year or so! ?
