so a question to help me understand ... when tethering you use the data from your phone ... if you subscribe to C+ you use data from the C+ subscription ... is that correct?
Yep.

BTW, I received the email below from Rivian about an hour ago. It seems the Halloween theme will be available until November 4.

I’m not a connect+ subscriber mostly because tethering works and the live cameras never did for me. And while I think the Halloween stuff is fun it’s wild how seriously people here take it since i can only assume you’re all adults. Lol.

I do not have C+ on my R1T and have no update.

My wife just signed up for C+ on her R1S about 3 hours ago and was just given the update.

While I agree with you, they are only enforcing what they said 90 days ago when the trial started.... I'm not a subscriber and hate the wait
It's the fact that the software update started to go out ONE DAY after the C+ trial ended that stings. They could have started the software update a couple days earlier, and shown people "see! we released it, and y'all get it immediately!" but no. The software update delaying one day meant it was a C+ sales tactic.

I’ll guess non-Connect+ subscribers will start getting the update Monday or Tuesday

Connect+ subscriber here. No update pushed yet. It's interesting to hear of people signing up today and getting it immediately after.

Yeah, I agree. WTF is with that?

It's not that big of a deal, but as I subscribed at the outset and it’s a purchased perk, I sent an email to customer service asking about the delay. I also asked why I always receive update notifications weeks after an update is initially rolled out. I often get an update notification when the next following update is only days away from rollout.

Supposedly, Rivian cycled through the order so that everyone got a shot at getting an update early in the rollout. After a year and a half, I've always been at or near the end of the sequence.

Something isn't right

Halloween seems to be when many folks lose their mind on this forum. I believe last year folks complained that they didn't do enough for Halloween. This year they made it more comprehensive creating all sorts of operational problems for the vehicles in the process. And then you have the folks who are upset they don't have the update (which has caused others problems) 48 hours after release, but refuse to pay for the service which will give them priority updates (on top of the data hot spot). This place is crazy lately.

I got some of my latest updates (weeks after deployment) during the C+ trial period. Folks who don't want to pay for priority need to realize that one-two week waits were experienced by many before C+ even existed. Bottom line is it's not feasible or wise to push an update to everyone all at once.

I agree. I don't really care much about a slight delay, assuming it ends up being only slight, but the larger picture is that you have a purchased perk that isn't delivered as promised. So this kind of behavior could make some question the future representations of the company when it comes to marketing. Just my two cents. Ultimately, I'll try not to read much into it as it relates to future promises, but it would be in their best interest to not let this happen so often.

Activated the paid C+ this morning. Within an hour we got the OTA. (One data point)

Ha! The way this company operates is hilariously stupid sometimes. I mean, I'm a fanboy and love them, but there are some aspects that make you think it's run by 5-year-olds.
