I’m swapping from 22s to 20s with these tires. 275/65R-20 NITTO RECON GRAPPLER A/T SL. R1S. Do I really need to take it to the SC to avoid wildly off mileage? Such a pain. Will switch back to 22s after winter. Thanks for any help.

I asked the question of the mobile service tech for the same swap and he said he could do it without having to take it in to the SC. Still have to schedule and pay(?), but could be more convenient than taking it in.

I don’t think there is much of an appreciable difference between the diameter of the stock tire/wheel combos, so it may not be a big deal really.

No it's no different than any other 4x that has different tires put on. Speedo won't be exact. mpg never is anyway.

That’s interesting. Gaithersburg Maryland refused to do it mobile.

My snowies are different diameter than my stock 21s, speedo dropped by 2-3 km/hr to the ACTUAL speed from the artificially high it normal shows. I ignore it, doesn’t change my driving habits in the slightest (just realize your efficiency will show a bit less and total mileage too)

I switched from 22 darks to 275/65/20 Falken Wildpeaks and my speedo actually got more accurate! It was off 1-2 mph before and now it’s pretty dead on. Have had them on over a year now with no issues and never had any calibration done. Bought a set of 21s this summer for a road trip and swapped those on and off and truck had no issues with calibration (I didn’t think to check how accurate speedo was with the 21s)

Thank you, very helpful. Swapping them out tomorrow!

I asked about this in the service center. They told me the anti-lock braking and collision avoidance depend on the vehicle being calibrated to the right tire size and they do not recommend changing the size without resetting the computers. He said its a 10 minute appointment but it absolutely has to be done. They will do it if the tires and wheels are swapped out someplace else. Just reporting what he said.

Sounds like you may need replacements for the Grabbers, what are you leaning towards at this point and how many miles do you think you’ll be able to get out of the Grabbers? (I’m interested in the Michelin LTX M/S2 or Pirelli AS+3 when time comes - prob not for at least 12 months)
