I (innocently) said to my wife one day…”I want to trade my Model 3 to a Rivian R1T; she replies back to me: Whatever makes you happy…..”

Only 10? I don't have a photo but I think I put at least 23 in last time I moved some. Could have done more but didn't need it at the time. Tailgate down, I think it was stacked something like:
Code:
3+3

2+2+2+2

4 + 2

I didn't have to strap it but I was only driving around our place so wasn't worried about losing any.

yep 8’. I’m thinking 10’ would be about the limit I’d feel comfortable with without a hitch extender.
My concern is the load on the tailgate. I've done 14' with a 2x4 across the bed just in front of the tailgate, some shorter stuff on that, then weighted / strapped down using the forward D tiedowns; plus a strap around the end of the lumber to the back Ds. Another time 10 railroad ties the same way; that was pretty heavy.

That topper is growing on me more and more..... Any chance you would be willing to post a picture looking out the back window? Curious if there is "any" rear view? Are there any color match options or are they black only?

Hey Jon, thanks for your question!

Currently, we are only offering gloss black to match the black trim pieces of all Rivian trucks.

As per the rear view, the tapered portion of the topper does cut off about 25-35% of your view, however you can still see plenty behind you while driving.

Here are some pictures of the rear view mirror and looking rearward from the drivers seat.
The car shown is about 50 feet behind the truck:

Thank you, I was curious how much visibility there was. Currently waiting on my truck to get out of service due to a mold issue..... I regret buying the "S" over the "T" model, might be going for a Trimax if I ever get it back and get the results of a mold test done..... Thank you again for posting it!

Good luck on the mold and definitely go for the tri-max!

Not as much as my '87 Chevy but still usable. The Chevy fit 4 bales on edge across, the R1T is too narrow for that so not as nice a base which messes up the back end.
