Gen 2 HVAC default setting

Gen 2 RIS question. Winter temperatures have arrived in Minnesota so I am paying closer attention to the heating. The heat seems to work well and get to temperature quickly, but every time I get in the vehicle the center vents under the screen are set to closed. The only open vents are the driver and passenger side vents, which are directed up and toward the side windows. I have my preference saved as "A" in the climate shortcuts, but it goes back to the closed center vents every time I get in the vehicle. Is this how it is supposed to operate? Is there a way to default to my saved "A" climate control setting and keep it on that?

I’m experiencing the same situation here. After I tap open the center vents it seems to then go back to my “A” setting. Curious on a fix myself, if any.

Yes, this is how it is designed to operate unfortunately. Are you using "AUTO" for the HVAC control setting? This mode sets the vent positions automatically as well. These are relatively standard configurations based on auto settings I've experienced in other vehicles. Heat is windshield, side vents, and floor by default. Cooling is all front vents open by default.

Yes I am using the auto setting. While not my ideal setting, it is good to know it is operating as designed. Thank you.
