Will key fob be sent to owners?

Will the FOB be sent to all owners like the Tesla supercharger adapter or will it have to be purchased on the Rivian gear shop

Are you talking about Gen 2? If so, you will need to purchase one if you want it. It's probably a pain for some of you, but I think it's a good move on Rivian's part. I'm not going to bother as I have four keys already. Two PAAK and two cards.

I do kind of worry that the take rate will be low such that it won't be worth it for Rivian to prioritize any issues, such UWB and battery optimization/issues that may come up with it.

If only the card keys I had worked. They did for a bit but haven't in months. I use the phone 100% of the time but the FOB is necessary for valet or service.

You may want to log a ticket. Others have had the NFC reader in the door handle fail, preventing the use of cards/bands.

Gen2 keyfob was never advertised as standard equipment. It's an optional accessory, to be purchased from Gear Shop like any other accessory. Supercharger adapter is a complimentary gift, and possibly tied to their access to NEVI funds. Or, at the very least, some sort of tax shelter.

I've parked my R1S with a valet a few times now. At least where I live, they're so used to Teslas that the keycard doesn't confuse them. They usually even have little pouches they slide the card into.

Sure thing. I have to drive to Brooklyn which takes 2 hours each way, and they said they can fit me in February some time. Whatever, eventually the cards will work.

Crazy that you can't program your own cards like in Tesla. We had two teslas for a while and I programmed my two cards to work for both cars. You can even buy more cards on their website for cheap if you lose yours.
