Didn’t know if anyone read a report or had knowledge if Rivian was considering adding a heads up display to any of its vehicles? I drove my brother in laws f450 last week and it had one that was fantastic. It showed just the right amount of info and when you used blue cruise (fords driver+) it shined.
I know other EV makers use them as well. Just didn’t know if someone had insider info.
thx!

Nothing announced, and I would never purchase based on rumors or even promises from Rivian at this point. Don't trust that features will be released just because they've been teased.

I’ve had hud in numerous cars and while it’s nice it’s not a game changer imho

100% agree. I’m wondering about the ACTUAL utility of a HUD in a truck…tactical aircraft, sure…airliners, yep…race cars, absolutely…but a truck?

Speed and driving directions would be useful for most people.

I want Google Cast on a HUD while I'm driving.

HUDs were designed to reduce focal-length changes, to gather critical info quickly. Speed and directions are not time-critical data. But, it’s fun “gee wiz” stuff, like the surrounding vehicle info on the driver’s display. I’d rather have a small, tasteful analog clock instead of the huge-ass truck, which I can learn about by looking out the windshield. Just my $.02

You ever chugged on a Monster with a burrito in the other hand, while driving to a construction site? Yeah, me neither, but I'm sure that would be a good use for it.

While i've never personally owned a vehicle with a HUD, i've driven several with them and understand the appeal and merits of having it. But if it meant giving up the drivers display to have one, would you still want it?

Modern HUDs will show you surrounding cars to help merges. And they will show directions from your map app pointing you to the correct road or exit to take. All without taking your eyes off the road. It’s pretty helpful.

Went to Hawaii in November and rented a BMW M series coupe and it had the HUD. Super nice and informative with lane change assistance arrows and some more advanced HUD type things. I would absolutely love to have something similar. It came in super handy when navigating roads that we had never been on before.
