I believe there is a heating element where the wipers rest and you activate it with the rear defrost button (odd UX choice I think).

I’m with you on the headlights although someone posted about a recent patent Rivian filed to address that issue. Unclear it will show up in a real product but at the very least, they are aware of the situation.
OMG, you are THEBOMB, I have the gold metal strips in my windshield. Everyone likely has the system, right?

BTW, you should get point of some kind here on the site. I see the designation, "Reaction Score". do you know what that reflects? I think we all have such a reference, but I think it should be the quality of posts! 10 points to you for the window defrosting the wipers. For another 10 points, can you answer the stated question?

Wow! I guess I wasn’t looking closely enough, and was looking for a larger orange “patch” (or thicker strip) like I’ve had on previous cars. I take back my grumbling on that lack of hardware, though I think they should make it an obvious item to turn on/off, or at least clearly state somewhere how to trigger it.

Now I’ll have to play around with the two and see which melts ice. I really hope it’s the (counterintuitive) rear defrost icon, since the windshield defrost one blasts so hard and overheats the cabin pretty quickly (for my taste anyway). I imagine it also uses a fair amount of energy and is unpleasant sound wise.

I did see the heated headlamp patent! This is one of the things that has me thinking I’ll wait until Gen 3 before considering an upgrade (either that, or when my warranty is running out, whichever comes first). Hopefully by then, they’ll have something on par with my Meridian, and add some of the 12v plugs I use back in.

Heated LEDs are a feature on on some fairly inexpensive lights we have on some of our heavy equipment, and I’m sure other car manufacturers have them too, so I don’t think it’s asking too much for them to add the feature, especially since it can be a genuine safety issue.

What about the rating we have as members, "Reaction score"? is that a count of replies? I think it shoud be redeemable!
I honestly have no idea but would love to know.

According to comments on this Reddit post, it’s the rear defrost icon that activates it. Also a better visual on where the elements are. I happily stand corrected on that point!

Now, if that’s the case, I wish we could toggle rear defrost from the app ?

You don’t want to drive around with snow in the bed raining down on everyone behind you and blocking your back glass. And you absolutely don’t want to have to shovel out a few hundred pounds of snow if you don’t have to. Tonneau closed all the way.
Second that just push off as much as you can with a push broom before you hit the road like you would do for the rest of the truck

OHM BOY - I was waiting for delivery of my 2012 LEAF and this just can to me. I immediately placed an order for a license plate. My R1T is the fifth OHM BOY. ?

The pix - Do you mean the avatar? Screen shot of my favorite moment in the movie Airplane. ?

I thought that was it, but feared that was too simple for this geeky site. OMG, you are a real icon here, 11 thousand replies! I assume they were all positive and you did not have to cause any dumpster fires to get responses, did you?

I would vote for 'closed' as well. The only advantage off-hand would be a couple hundred pounds of weight over the back wheels. Not an issue with these trucks, imo.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't cause or at least participate in a few dumpster fires around here. I never caused dumpster fires to get reaction points, though. I don't do well at reacting to entitlement or overreactions and my responses to that sort of thing usually aren't very nice. Also, there are 11K reactions and under 6K comments. It is still a lot, especially considering that I took almost all of last year off from this site.

This is a great blog site, most the trouble is small, mostly functional. Online stuff is prone.
