I think it is best go do the test after 1k miles. My general grabbers was sub 2.0 when new. Now it is 2.4
Sure, I agree. My point is I am pretty happy with even where I am starting. My efficiency was pretty good even with the heat on. I have no complaints about efficiency but as I've repeatedly mentioned, efficiency wasn't my #1 priority. I also didn't want it to tank terribly like a monster mudder tire.

Went out and was enjoying the wintry mix. About busted my @$$ just getting to the truck as it was so slick. We started out with snow, then mixed in a bit of rain, some giant snowflakes and then more rain and some freezing ground. Now there is a good 2+" of slush and snow in other areas.

Between the tires and the traction control, I can accelerate surprisingly hard. Probably much harder than would be prudent. Drift mode is an absolute blast.

I happened to find some icy areas while out. I've attached a pic showing the conditions when I started. It continued to get much worse as I headed north. I thought I got one of the 4-5" of snow but it apparently just got the dash instead while in the phone mount.

It's supposed to rain/snow for the next 11 hours, so after dark, it will be treacherous here. The rain will turn to heavy snow about 6 pm. Not as much snow as @B Digs was dealing with earlier, but by tomorrow, most of Dallas will likely be shut down if it continues as planned. I went into In-N-Out Burger, which is just a money printing machine here. I was literally the only one in the restaurant or parking lot, other than the 3 unfortunate employees inside. Nobody was queueing around the block for the Chick-fil-A drive-through either.

My initial impression of these tires is they are pretty much as billed; a great all around tire with very few compromises. Also as expected, these are not as good as a dedicated ice tire. Can't fault them for that. That might get better with a few more miles on them once I wear down the harder rubber that has been exposed to air for so long.

I did have a chance to go through some pretty deep water. Absolutely no issues at all. A 7k pound truck along with a deep tread tire, works really well as long as you aren't going super fast and have enough tire pressure in them. When I was learning to fly years ago, for some reason, Horne's Formula is still ingrained in my head. It allows you to calculate when hydroplaning is likely to occur on a smooth surface; V = 9 x √P. V is ground speed in knots P is psi. There is some debate on the constant of "9" and some use 6 or 7.

I did try some panic braking as well from about 40 mph. That was quite good. If these tires had come on my truck, I wouldn't have swapped them out. I just have to say that curb appeal has definitely moved up in priority for me. Maybe it is because the go so great with the @Atomic Wheels, or just because they don't look like soccer mom tires, but I really like this combo on the truck.

If I get at least 25k out of them, I doubt I'll ever go with another tire unless there miraculously is a better tire that comes out. I could see getting a set of something like Pilot Sport 5's for the summer if they make one that will work and keep these for the rest of the year. I do wish I could totally disable regen. Had a dicey moment on some ice and a pretty severe slope.

Awesome report and write up. Make me want to swap out my current tires for the good year tomorrow. Still have about 5k miles left on mine.
I'm surprised in and out and chifila are open today.

I was driving more aggressively that most people would as I was exploring the limits of the tire and truck. First time I've had a chance to drive it on snow and ice. I had it in Drift mode and I was fairly hard on the power and spinning the rears with TC off.

I hit a patch of ice with the rear while spinning, and I continued to slide more than I planned. I am normally out hooning in our beater car the model 3 and it is a lot shorter. The extra length of the truck got closer to the curb than I planned.

Keep in mind I have less than 100 miles on my tires. Likely still some mold release compound on them. So nowhere near the traction they will have.

Yes, it will be a sheet of ice by then. Everything is melting right now and will refreeze shortly. On top of it we have sleet coming down now.

Anything you want me to check?

Yes! Take a left turn from an overpass about 15mph onto a highway on ramp with a slight decent.

Well, that would nicely unweight the tires and cause a loss of traction. Things are already icing up. Won't need any overpasses. I have to go where there is more snow in the morning so the tires will get some serious testing. I have to drive about 200+ miles in this crap tomorrow.

The snow that came down earlier was nicely showered by some rain resulting in about a 3" thick layer of ice on my Tesla that was parked outside. The Rivian's tonneau cover was flatter (so nothing really ran off) and I had about 4-5" layer of the same crap on it.

Becareful out there . It is game day today, so will be lots of cars on the street. I have to go to office today and wondering should I take the quad or the dual? I never driven the dual in the snow or ice so I 'm kind of want to test it out. Should I turn stability to "reduce" so it can engage both motors at all speed? "snow mode" on?

I would do the snow mode. I'd leave stability on. It seemed to work pretty well for when I wasn't hooning.

Were you able to get your truck reprogrammed for the different tire size? I'm half hoping I can stretch my OE tires out until they give me the option to reprogram it myself and then I'll get these. They seem like the perfect tire overall, wish Goodyear would make us a 275/65/20 as well for all the gen 1 owners out there.
