GOODYEAR15 code is done. Current $80 rebate from discount tires doesn't apply to this tire. Tirerack has them in stock, but not goodyear site. So weird.

I finally got to drive these in a torrential downpour and they handle much better than the 20 Pirellis ever did. Great tire!
Sold. Been waiting for someone's review in driving on downpour condition!!

Just wanted to give a quick update on my Goodyears so far. So far, I love them. I finally had a chance to run them up to triple digits and bang the speed limiter. They were smooth as butter. The tires wheel combo balanced amazingly well. While aesthetics of the tires weren't a major priority of mine, I have to say these things look phenomenal in person. Factor in the Atomic AW01, and I couldn't be happier with my tire/wheel choice. Damn they look good though. Photos don't do this combo justice.

Enough about the curb appeal. I want to dive in a bit more about the dynamics. I have to say @B Digs was spot on, and might have undersold these a bit. One of my biggest concerns was if they were noisy. I didn't run a db meter on them but subjectively, they are pretty quiet. Surprisingly they are a little louder (but not loud) at lower speeds than at highway speeds. There is a very slight hum and I have to say I like it. It pairs awesomely with the quad motor whine. Sort of like pairing a good whine with cheese. Pun intended. The noise is an absolute non issue for me. I was looking for it too. I had the radio off, tried different roads, put the windows down, and at the end of the day, not an issue for me. My wife won't even notice the minuscule change. YMMV.

Once my biggest fear was allayed, I took to driving them over a lot of bumps, through some twisties, another high speed blast, and through all my usual driving scenarios. Before I dive deeper, I want to put a few things in context. Immediately before these, I was running the factory 21's. Before that I had the factory 20 AT's. I have only done street driving with these so far but I did get to try some deep standing water and likely will get snow this week.

These feel so much better than either of those other tires I don't know where to start. They are quieter than the 20's and only a little bit noisier than the 21's. They feel so much sharper, and better than the 20's in every way (ride, NVH, braking, accelerating, etc.), I don't even want to think about them. While I am still breaking these in, there isn't anything they don't do better than my 20's that I've tried. My efficiency is also better but I am not obsessed with that.

My 21's were nicely scuffed in with plenty of tread. I had some very good 0-60 runs on them. See my Dragy thread. They got me to the fastest Dragy times on the street for a quad motor and not even a high state of charge. So the obviously worked pretty well for traction even though I got wheelspin with them. I was only about a tenth off the best 0-60 time thad someone ran on a prepped dragstrip track. They had a higher charge level, and likely less payload than me. So I was pretty happy with them.

I haven't done any runs with these yet, and will need to break them in and wait for warmer days for better road grip, but so far they seem quite good. They definitely are more comfy with the taller sidewall yet feel pretty nimble. Maybe not quite as sharp, but pretty close. I expect them to get even better once scuffed in. I had to make one panic stop and they surprised the heck out of me how well they did.

For a tire that seems to have some decent offroad and snow capability they are pretty good on the street. That wide beefy tire definitely grips well so far. I can't really comment enough on efficiency because I didn't buy them for that. I want an all weather sports truck and that is what I got. If I need to get more range, I'll slow down a bit. I wanted good wet and dry traction and it seems like I have it. I can spend a few extra pennies for electrons if I need to. I tend to drive pretty enthusiastically so I probably have worse efficiency than others here but I do track things in Electrafi and will update in a few months how they compare to my 21's. I didn't have Electrafi setup with my 20's so can't give as much detail around that. Not to mention Texas roads move along at a decent clip.

The tires can't take all the credit but they do touch the road. The Atmoic Wheels are awesome. The fact this combo is so smooth at high speeds is a testament to both companies. These wheels looked pretty good in the photos, better in the box, but on the truck in person just made my day. I have a topper on order and I think the black of it is going to go great with my satin finish wheels. These wheels did save a bit over the stock ones but the Goodyears are wee bit heavier. I couldn't weigh them but I'd guess I saved about 10 pounds per corner. So thanks @Atomic Wheels for making such awesome wheels.

One last note, the speedo reads the same as did my 21's. So happy with that.

So far this tire/wheel combo is exceeding my expectations. I can't recommend this combo highly enough if you are an efficiency weenie, try to squeeze every mile you can out of a watt. Even then, I don't think you'd hate them either.

Appreciate the detailed review. I will not need tires likely until next year, but these have been at the top of my radar for when I do.

I am posting a few photos to better show the tread and the wheel. I have highlighted the edge in red on one of them the best I can. That shows you how much more extra tread you get vs the Michelin Defenders LTX M/S2's. I don't know about you, but a truck with 800 HP (or even 500 HP) needs more tire rather than less in most situations. That was the final reason I didn't go with the Michelins.

I want the extra traction for braking and acceleration. The Goodyear is rated better in traction than the Michelin but worse in treadwear. I'll take the extra grip all day long because if it saves me from being in one accident, it will pay for the slightly increased running costs (tires and efficiency) many times over.

You can see you have over an inch of extra tread width. The Michelins are about 7.8" wide. That narrower tire will typically help you with efficiency, but for me I'd give up things that were more important for maybe a few % more efficient tire. So far loving the tires and we have snow in the forecast for Thursday and can't wait to try them.

I got a set of these installed over the weekend and I have to agree that they look amazing in person, and surprisingly better than in the pictures I had seen. They ride noticeably better than the 21s as expected. I will also confirm the extra noise at low speed, but no noticeable difference at highway speeds. The most unexpected difference seems to be the additional, audible wheelspin under hard launch compared to the 21s. My guess is they aren't really slipping much more than the 21s, the 21s just didn't make nearly as much noise when slipping as these do. My 21s also looked like Cup 2s by now, so that may have aided their grip. Now I just hope I get more than 16k miles out of these, but even if not they we're half the price of the garbage pirellis, so not a major loss. If I can get 25k out of these, I'll be happy and stick with them. If not, I'll probably try out the Michelins just to see how much better they do on treadlife.

If I can get 25k out of these, I'll be happy and stick with them. If not, I'll probably try out the Michelins just to see how much better they do on treadlife.
You likely know this, but it will take some time to break them in. I am not being too aggressive when new as I've seen tires chunk pretty severely. I am going to give them 1k miles before being more aggressive. I think in a lot of ways, the stock 21's were unfairly maligned. They aren't amazing but far better than I was led to believe. They definitely put the power to ground pretty well given my Dragy runs experience.

The curb appeal of this combo makes me smile every time I walk up to my truck. I am just shocked how much of an impact the new tires and wheels make for me. I knew the wheels would look good, but the tires are so much better than I thought.

I agree if I get 25k miles I'll be happy. The price for them was very fair, especially with the discount code I posted earlier. I am used to higher tire wear on my Teslas. My first rear tires on my Plaid lasted less than 5k miles and they cost as much as my set of 4 Goodyears for the truck.

Just mounted and replaced my 21" OEM set with 20" R1000 and the Goodyears. Love the look and had a great experience at the Normal Discount Tire although it cost $50 more than was advertised on the Tire Rack site for installation at the location. Also got to check out the new (to me) RAN site which was 10 yards away from the Discount Tire. I am probably late to party, but the RAN looks to be open to non-Rivians.

I have had these exact tires and EV bronze rims on my white R1S for a couple of weeks now (sorry no pics yet). I bought my R1S from the shop and wanted a few non-negotiable options (wife) which meant compromising on wheels (22" bright). So far loving the new look and marginally softer ride over bumps, can't say much for efficiency as it's been cold and so the heater is distorting everything but that's why I got the Max battery, I'm not a great road tripper but I wanted to just not have to worry about losing efficiency whatever reason (especially as the larger battery comes without a significant weight penalty apparently).
That said my hope is that if aero-covers achieve greater efficiency by essentially covering the holes/gaps in the rims that this more solid/closed style of rim might offset (vs 22" brights) any loss from the chunkier tires.
If all goes well and these tires can deal well with NJ winters and the efficiency loss isn't so significant in summer then I think I'll sell the 22" Brights. I've always been one to change tires/wheels seasonally but maybe these can be good enough at both?

I had a chance to compare some drives that were very similar. I took one 3 days ago that was pretty much along the same road and very similar speeds. I set the cruise control at 71 mph for both which results in 70 mph according to the GPS. Info below is from Electrafi. Truck is a quad motor in conserve mode.

Running Goodyears Territory ATs. Cabin heat on at 69F and outside temps were in the mid 30's. I also had the steering wheel heat on and the seat at max. There was no preheating of the cabin and it has set in a parking lot for about 90 minutes before driving. Battery temps were 47F.

While this isn't an apples to apples comparison, it is pretty interesting. Factoring in the new tires AND heating, it was only a 15% hit. That was with a slightly higher avg speed with the Goodyears. I am quite satisfied with that. The trip computer was saying 2.24 when I reset it at 70 mph and ran it for 12 miles of the trip.

The tires feel great. Super quiet at cruise. Very good ride quality and still quite nimble. Excellent tires for my usage so far.

January Goodyear availability update…

Discount Tire needed a week to get it from Goodyear, which is too long for me. I’ve got a nail in mine and am road tripping next week. Discount’s price was also high ($297?), plus install.

The local Goodyear company owned store ordered one for me. Will arrive in 2 business days. They’re charging me $275 for the tire, plus shipping, plus install… more than the price on the Goodyear Website. The local store refused to price match the Goodyear website, and refused the 10% discount code the Goodyear website offered me. “When people buy on the website, our store doesn’t get credit for the sale”. Goodyear’s website shows out of stock for Houston. Won’t even let you order. Yes, Goodyear has an omnichannel pricing problem.

Out of curiosity, I checked Tire Rack. Lowest price ($261). Would arrive in 3 business days. No shipping charge. Faster and cheaper than what Discount Tire offered, despite common ownership.

Lesson learned. Check Tire Rack.
I just got mine last month off of Tire Rack. They had them to my local discount tire in San Diego the next day - no shipping charge.

Already put 5k miles on them out and back to NC and love them! Much better ride and cheaper than the stock pirellis.

I think it is best go do the test after 1k miles. My general grabbers was sub 2.0 when new. Now it is 2.4
