Woke up to find my suspension broken again—for the third time—on a truck with less than 17,000 miles. It's completely slammed to the lowest setting, making it undrivable because the tires rub against the fender wells. A hard reset does nothing, and when I try to adjust the suspension, I just get the message: "To Change ride height, service air suspension."

At this point, I wish I could go back in time and slap myself for buying this damn thing.

What did the Service Center find and fix the first two times? How recently was the second fix done? Just wondering if this is an ongoing single issue and if something from the most recent fix may play a part in the third issue.

If this is the third attempt at fixing the exact same issue, I’d want to talk to someone at the Service Center to see what can be done to fix this long term.

Why does your air suspension continue to malfunction? Are you going off road in higher settings a lot? Is it the compressor?

The first time, they stated something about a harness or connector, and it was replaced. The second time, they said it was the compressor, and they removed and replaced it. We will see what they say this time.

when I was having that same issue, they had to replace the entire front suspension and the lines running to it, been good since; except them not properly getting it calibrated at first on my right side. (potential bad sensor)

If they're just verbally telling you things and you want to verify or get more info you should be able to go into the app > account area (person silhouette at bottom) > Rivian Service > Service History: Past invoices to see exactly what they did on each visit.

How long has it been since the second repair visit? If it was fairly recent it could be that something they did in the course of the second got loose (e.g. air line connector) or became unplugged (electrical connector) and this will be a simple fix. For your sake, I hope that's all it is, even though it is maddening.

We used to own a Jaguar, which we loved, but the dealer we used was terrible. Several times we took the car in for problem A, they'd fix problem A and cause problem B, then it would take 2 more visits for them to fix problem B. If that's the case for you I know how incredibly annoying this can be.

Yeah the pdfs show they replaced what I mentioned. The last time this happened was in October

I've wondered about this. What happens when you lemon a Gen1 R1S Quad at preorder pricing. In California, lemon law is very consumer friendly but still.
  1. I'm sure refund is the MSRP you paid, which would suck at preorder pricing.
  2. What if I want to get a replacement Rivian, am I to:
    1. Take a Dual motor Standard as replacement
    2. Will they replace with equivalent trim.
      1. Would it be a Gen 2 Tri which is the spiritual equivalent to Gen 1 Quad
      2. Would it by lemon law be Gen 2 Quad for "like for like" equivalent.
I'm guessing Rivian would just follow minimum requirement for lemon law which would be option 1 at refund preorder pricing. But that leaves us as a customer out of our Rivian and into potentially a used one, which again by lemon law it should be replaced with an equivalent new as a "fresh start"

Rivian should follow option 1. That is the legal approach. They give some people reduced grandfathered pricing and now those people just keep wanting more and that price response card for new vehicles. No gratitude.

Rivian would make a repurchase offer considering original purchase price, mileage, interest paid over life of loan, and any permanent mods (such as PPF or tint, so long as you have receipts). In my experience, Rivian is very fair, helpful, and professional in this process.

I can't say that they would give you a more expensive vehicle straight-trade. I think that would be a long shot. In a repurchase, they are trying to make you whole from your original purchase, not upgrade your ride.

Sometimes when it’s a fairly straightforward fix going the lemon law route isn’t worth it especially if you financed and now cannot get the same terms
