Jacksonville Service Center (Status? Updates?)

Any recent updates on the Jax SC?

We're down in St. Augustine, and Jax would be much better vs. Orlando (the next closest SC), in fact, our purchase may be contingent on that SC actually opening up.

Had the Jax are mobile tech out last week. He said they had it narrowed down to 3 properties at the moment. So still at least a year

Heard rumors about a St. Johns location off of I95 (same exit as Buc-ee's). 20 minutes away sure beats 150 miles to Orlando. I'm going on my 3rd service visit in less than a year next week. At 300 miles per round trip I hope these service center visits can be deducted from my lease milage allocation. Rivian service center visits currently account for 9% of the total milage on my car. I don't think it would be fair to charge me for milage overages when Rivian is telling me that they can't send remote techs and I need to I need to bring the car to Orlando. Looks like I'm getting both the 12v battery and the High Voltage battery replaced because the existing one is "not performing optimally" - translation, a bunch of cells must be dead because I can only charge to about 81% and my max range is down from 305 to 185 miles.

Around that location would be spectacular for us, we're in St. Augustine, that's ~18 miles (to that Buc-ees).

Sooooo, I dropped off may R1S for my 12v battery service as well as a High Voltage Battery issue. I was already on the docket for a complete HV battery replacement, so no surprises and all of the labor came to 8.5hrs, so I anticipated that it would take them a few days. I get to the Orlando SC and I am told that they are pretty backed up, so the repair will take 6-7 weeks. I'm in a rented Ford Edge for the time being, but supposedly a Rivian loaner should be brought out to me in a week.

Regarding the "Jacksonville" (St. Johns) SC location, I was told there was some issue with the property so the opening was pushed to next year (some time in 2026). In the meantime they are working on getting some 3rd party shops in the area approved to service Rivians... we should hear about this soon.

Huh, I did not. I've been occasionally checking it out, though it does sound like Jax is now St Johns.

Pretty confident we'll be moving to Orlando in about a year, so a local service center won't be an issue any longer (assuming we go with a Rivian).

**** BIG UPDATE, for NE Florida****
It's official - New Rivian Service & Demo center coming to World Golf Village area in St. Johns County. Rivian "St. Augustine" location planned to open in early 2026.

That's awesome! I was hopeful based on your post from Feb, and now it's pretty much confirmed (I see the location on their map, as "coming soon").

Funny enough, we have plans to move to the Orlando area next year, late Spring, hahaha, so I guess this St. Johns location won't be quite as big of a deal for us.

That being said, the plans are to be in the Jax area twice a month, so having a SC on both ends will be kind of nice.
