Is Electrified Overland a scam?

Like many of you on here, I saw an add to pre order a new gear tunnel slide design that would allow you to pull from either side. I eagerly placed my order in December with the promise of delivery in January. Come January, I got another email stating that the gear slide was going to be delayed another month and would begin shipping 2/10.

Alright, no problem. I can wait another month.

But here I am still waiting. So I decide to email them back like they encouraged for any questions (that was about a week ago), no answer.

So, is Electrified Overland a scam or a business with poor customer service?

Definitely not a good sign. Did you make a down payment on your pre-order?

Designing a completely new product from scratch does take a lot of time and multiple iterations. So delays are to be expected. The hope would be that the manufacture would be transparent on the delays. ..but then.. remember when the first R1T's were promised....

Pretty much every preorder item I have ever ordered from any company always takes longer to get into production than anticipated. If you get tired of waiting just ask to cancel the order. I had to do this on some rock sliders from another company after 8 months of delays. I ordered a hot tub cover one time and the company was bought out 2 times and I finally received a pretty nice cover a year and a half after it was supposed to arrive.

I would cancel and see if you can still get on the first run of boxgods slider which should be coming out in a month or so. Similar price, comes out both sides, but you get outlets and likely higher quality material based on his frunk tank.

They do not appear to have a phone number, about us, or any other meaningful identification or contact methods on their page. Screams scam to me.

Most of the legit fabrication shops have a presence here on the forums, fyi.

Hopefully you have some recourse.

Isn’t it the same guy who designed the Megawatt sliders? This isn’t an outfit with inhouse manufacturing capacity. It’s probably not even the guy’s day job. If you ever try getting an idea to market and have to outsource the manufacturing, you’re at mercy of your vendors’ schedule. Plus, there’s huge up-charge in cost when you make only one or a few. Often times it’s more effective to hold off until you have a batch of orders before you begin manufacturing.

I spoke to the owner about a week ago and he said he’s delayed on a part. And said he should have in a couple weeks. But that was a week ago and don’t know where orders are at now. I know he’s on here as I’ve seen his name pop up.

I pre ordered one when they were announced and have been waiting also. When I email them to ask about any updates, they always respond. I believe the company is legit, but production is more difficult than expected. Here is the response I got from them

“Unfortunately my supplier is making life hard for me. Nature of doing business. I’m going to my supplier in person tomorrow to light the fire, hoping work can get started on the trays this week. I’ll send an update as soon as I can get it in stone. If you are willing to stay with us, I’ll waive the shipping charges for you as a token of good faith. If not I can process the cancellation of your order. Let me know what will work best for you.”

This was sent to me on Monday. I am going to give it another month.

Thank you for all the replies. It definitely puts me a little more at ease knowing that some of you have been in contact with them. But I think I will try and cancel my order by FooF and a few others.

Hey all, I saw this post and went to talk to EO about it.
He’s not able to respond on RF for what ever reason, something about a subscription.
Anyways, wanted to give you all an update. Definitely not a scam. EO has every intention to fulfilling orders. He’s all stocked up on every single part expect for the tray, which he has been fighting tooth and nail to get build. This is all he thinks about lately.
I think he’s a bit embarrassed about giving dates cause he feels it’s empty promises and does not want to give another false date but from what he says, the trays will come in this week and next. The amount of orders he has is going to keep him busy but I have faith he will get it done.

Just wanted to let you all know that EO is definitely not a scammer. There’s a lot of work that goes into mocking up and building a new product. Everyone is at the mercy of their supplier. With that being said EO is a great guy, we met up this morning to get this in my truck!

I've considered many options and honestly this is the one that remains on my list. People who have never tried to get a product to market tend to take the unseen process for granted. How wide is the bottom flat? Curious if it's wide enough to accommodate an HF Badlands jack (14-1/4 in. wide).

I believe it will hold the badlands jack at an angle. Their video shows the pro eagle jack and I believe they are similar. I received my gt slide the other day and installed it last night but didn’t have a chance to load it up.
