Can we start waving???

Some enthusiastic CR-V driver was frantically waving and flashing their lights at me like we were long-lost friends. I wasn't sure if my vehicle was spontaneously combusting, if I was about to meet my doom in a speed trap, or if they'd simply consumed their body weight in sugar and needed to express their newfound energy somehow.

That’s totally me. Except in a Volvo XC-90 in Iowa! I really want to be a Rivian owner. Can you tell?

One day in Park City while driving around I saw 5 Rivians. There must be a lot of them there. The people in Utah that buy Rivians don't seem to see themselves as a part of a distinct group. I gave up trying to signal them by flashing my headlights or any other way.

They are everywhere in Atlanta. I can see 4 from the top of my driveway. Probably see 20 per day and I rarely drive more than 5-6 miles on the daily.

I’m advocating for the Rivian “wink”. 2 flickers of your highbeams. Also if you drive an R1S step your game up. 90% don’t wink back and I just look like some crazed maniac trying to say hi! lol

Same here. In Bend, Rivian’s are everywhere.

If you come over to the coast, remember, there are not many around.

With a Jeep its certainly a sympathy wave, but its also an acknowledgement that we're Jeep people despite it. Like sure its eventually going to leak when it rains out, but I still love it.

I sold my Jeep awhile back but I still miss it.

With Motorcycles I assumed its because life is short and you gotta wave when you still have an arm to wave with.

Or maybe its a "Yeah, we know riding this in the era of human zombies is crazy but we're not going to give up"

I just laugh when all the Rubicon drivers in their kitted out rides wave at me in my 73 CJ5 with manual steering, no doors, drum brakes, etc. Like dude, you and I are not the same.

Always wave at other Rivians though. Contemplating switching to the Katniss Mockingjay salute...

Yeah! My family and I did it as a summer project together last year. It was fun to work on together. We made a time lapse that was pretty cool of the process too. With our vehicle situation we are hoping to be able to trade my wife’s truck in for an R1S in the next couple years. But with trade in values and the interest rates it’s longer than I would care to wait unfortunately. But we are all about Rivian!

You should send this in to Rivian. It's fantastic! IMHO if I was getting a R1S in the next 2 years, I'd look hard at the R2. It will have a lot of the tech from the G2 R1S at half the cost. I'm not a big fan of the air suspension on the R1s and the R2 has regular suspension. All the best.

I tried to send it to them. Not sure if it got through or they were just a little meh about it or not. Thank you for the compliment though! We sure love it! But we do have a reservation in on an R2 but need to be able to tow our pontoon. So the max towing will have to be a factor.

I currently have a Jeep wrangler and the Jeep wave is a real thing. I want a Rivian. And I almost wave to other Rivians because I like them so much!

His favorite Rivian trick - sitting in the car and saying "Alexa, enable R2D2 talk" and then spending the next 5 minutes asking R2 questions.
