Second of the many problems with this test....engaging AP just before the incident? Why? You want to test a system's decision ability while limiting its ability to do so? It's an unrealistic driving situation. It's clearly done with bias, rather than with a mindset of valid testing in a real world situation.

(As if the Wile E. Coyote test was a real world situation to start with.)

I look forward to Don's rabid defense of said tests, including the expletives and name-calling. They are sure to skirt most of what I said and quote tiny parts in a straw man/red herring way of arguing.)

Rober did too. I have no idea which event you're referring to, but I posted a link to an admission of a purposeful, premeditated lie for profit. It's just one of many. Like most people, when someone repeatedly lies on purpose, I take their next claims with slightly more skepticism. But some people, because they have Musk Derangement Syndrome, will totally ignore that and simply go with "rocket man bad."
SO, let me get this right....... "I take their next claims with slightly more skepticism" in reference to Rober..........but "Musk Derangement Syndrome" for Musk. Which is it? Do you believe liars or not.

Got it. You can't make a coherent argument for your position. Noted, and appropriate skepticism applied to all comments from you.

Also, to be clear, since reading comprehension isn't high here. Rober offered cash to participants that caught thieves and recovered the false package. This falsely incentivized otherwise volunteering participants to lie about events to get money. These events he didn't know until after the video aired. This is quite different from things that Musk lies for profit on, like "your cybertruk can be used as a boat", or "It's a steel exoskeleton", or "It's bulletproof" in sales pitches and launches for products from his company.

Just so we're clear on details and not speaking in hyperbole.

Today I learned that walls don't exist in the real world.

I very clearly, in direct words, said they are both liars. But here, we are not discussing a Musk lie, because he's not talking. We're discussing Rober's lies.

You did illustrate that.

It is when they make a claim. Back up your shit.
Exactly, you keep claiming that the video is real, back up your shit.

I don't have a dog in this race, honestly. But this isn't how the burden of proof works.

I'm willing to repeat these tests if one of you Tesla stans lets me use your Tesla.

I don't really know what a stan is, seems to be some Gen Z slang? In context it seems to imply some sort of fandom. It's rather disingenuous in this context. But you are very welcome to my Tesla for your test, 100%.

Note I've never said the video was fake, so it's amusing to see what everyone assumes here. In other places that are Tesla focused, as soon as I set the record straight about a Rivian, they they call me a Rivian fanboi. Nobody likes reality or to have their strongly held illusions shattered.

Asking you to support your baseless claims has nothing to do with prejudice on my part. That’s the basic foundation of intelligent discourse. When I make a claim I’m ready to support said claim with evidence. Too bad you can’t say the same thing.
Tesla is the biggest purchaser of luminar lidar. That says something if tesla does not use luminar lidar on their commercially released vehicles.

Luminar is not doing well because there are other lidar options now.

You have repeatedly said that it wasn't real. Walls aren't real. And evidently when an ADAS is activated, it shouldn't be active...? When should it be active? When should it deactivate itself?

The only person assuming anything is you. You also haven't said anything of worth regarding Rivian, so I wouldn't be bragging about white knighting on other forums.

So people die with Tesla's system because it is too good?

When you have a system that disengages for every little thing, it reduces the chances of an ADAS system being enabled when an accident happens.

When a system performs for 100s of miles without disengagement, works regardless of lane line visibility, mapping, etc. people get complacement

Tesla's "deaths" are largely with their radar systems which is why tesla no longer uses radar in any of their vehicles

~2100 sensors.... clearly they're mass producing vehicles with these.

2100 is not much because of the number of lidar they have on each vehicle.

If you want high volume lidar, Hesai is what is being used on many of the chinese brands
