Picked up the DUNE & HVAC already broke!

Just picked up my Dune 2 weeks ago & immediately dropped off for stealth PPF. Really love the color, styling & handling. Weather was mild the day I picked up so I didn’t test the HVAC. I assumed the delivery team had tested it… few days ago, I tried running the A/C and it wasn’t working. Tried heat and also nothing. Multiple hard resets did nothing. I don’t hear the heat pump at all so I figure it’s dead. Service scheduled. So frustrating that a brand new vehicle doesn’t have a functioning HVAC.
**Update - quick service appointment resolved issue - “Found refrigerant was not charged”

Yes, this is my 2nd R1T, swapped my Gen1

That stinks. Haven't had any HVAC issues with my gen2 R1S yet.

I had an issue with mine that started after driving a couple of miles; I suspect the exhaust hose for the air compressor isn't attached to a baffle. It sounded like a cat hissing loudly inside the cabin every time the ride height was adjusted. I was told this has been an issue here and there with R1S. So after three whole days, it's been in the shop for a week now to repair something that I should have caught at delivery, though I also don't get how someone wouldn't have noticed it during inspection, you can hear the air wooshing out of the system from 20' away while the suspension adjusts.

My rear suspension seems to be constantly adjusting itself & the compressor is pretty loud. I recorded the noise & added to my service ticket…

My suspension compressor is loud too I think that’s just the nature of the beast. Rivian’s build quality can still use work for sure. My rear defrost was defective on delivery because someone didn’t plug the connector in correctly. Hopefully yours is that simple, although it’s both more important than rear defrost and still annoying.

In my case, the compressor isn't all that loud, it's just the air coming out of the system when the ride height adjusts. It's really loud outside and not that much quieter inside. The guy at the SC told me they've seen this issue with other Gen2 R1S, which usually ends up being a hose that's not properly connected.

It is disappointing after three years and one update that they cannot routinely build trouble free vehicles and get tripped up on this small stuff.

I don’t have a dune but have a Gen2 R1S that has already been in the shop for this issue. Heat gave out during a snowy time here. 3 weeks later, it’s in the 80s and a/c gave out. I really love this vehicle but hate the QC issues. I guess I need to make 3 or 4 attempts before filing a lemon law claim on my lease. Bummer since the SC is 100mins away (could be worse I guess).

This must be very frustrating. Annoying enough the HVAC doesn’t work, but it not being caught during the inspection process is doubling annoying. At this point they should be catching these things. No excuses.
