It doesn’t help that I lost at least 3-5 Rivian’s worth between my portfolio + pending RSU’s. And those drops started well before Liberation day.

The current administration thinks this is just a mild hit to the economy because of the ok jobs report. This is just the beginning of an avalanche.

I hope not - maybe it is a good time to buy the dip. Who knows. Anyway, just to switch the discussion a bit, I finally got my R1T from SC:

29K, 2 years. Was driving fine, but there was a bit knocking when I acelerate / decelerate, so I decided to ask SC to check this out. They did:

1. Front Drive unit replaced due to gear lashing
2. Front Shocks were replaced with new versions of shocks - the old one were leaking (I do not off-road)
3. Front Half shafts replaced + hubs
4. Front Right Break rotor+ pad replaced as break was wearing unevenly
5. 12V replaced
6. All recalls done (HVAC drain, etc)

SC did an amazing job, and the truck is better than new. Overall, more than 20k in work + parts, all done under warranty. But the question is, how can so many parts fail in 2 years ...

And they fail to understand that job reports—and other indicators—are for previous months. Not instantaneous pulse readings. Fundamentally unqualified to lead and make such decisions.

Will the 250k eliminated federal jobs make it into the equation, I wonder?

29k miles and all those major fixes? Yikes. Moral of this story - never keep a Rivian out of warranty. EVER

That's true for many cars at this price point.
There is a difference with Rivian - you can not go to non Rivian SC - you must do it at Rivian only. BMW and others - you have a choice, and in many cases, you can find a much cheaper option. Not with Rivian. I think Rivian must come with an extended warranty if they want to show confidence in their product.

As more Rivian’s get out of warranty there will be more independent shops popping up. Parts availability is still a problem at this point in time but the lack of independent shops and parts aren’t really because there’s something wrong with Rivians but because they are so new most of them are still under warranty.

Curious has anyone been able to verify this manufacturing reduction anywhere official?

Seems to me that this would qualify as a meaningful change that would require an official announcement under SEC rules.

Very true unfortunately. I’m used to Toyotas. Air suspension is the devil IMO
I finally had to put a couple of air bags in our gx but it has 150k miles. Not bad really since it's had a tough life 4 wheeling and towing.

Wonder what they do different ? Just seems the biggest issue with Rivians are always suspension related

Rivian is too heavy for suspension they using. Many issues is because of this fact. They have a new shocks now (just were replaced on mine with very). Let see if it be better.

But in general, Rivian is similar to range rover - many issues , reliability is not good at all. Expected from the first car, but still very concerning.

I disagree. Your statement is anecdotal. Reliability is fantastic for many owners and not good at all for the people who complain and post about it here. The data you utilize is not a true representation of reliability.
