I’ve ordered the 3x and harness that is offered there for the Rivian.
Question : how does one order Lukas’s harness? Or the add on to the original harness(which I’m assuming is what we’re calling the one chosen in the Comma Ai site)?
The add on will be available on his site for purchase very soon.

Question: I ordered the Comma 3 with R1T harness on March 7. No word yet. Can someone share how long it may take for this all to arrive? Also, I did the $99 harness add on when I ordered. The web site has a $225 euro price for R1T harness. Is this because it now comes with the option for Horizonal? Thanks all!

No, the price difference is because Lukas basically hand-builds his harnesses whereas Comma has their mass-produced. Lukas can also ship his harnesses right away while there is still a backorder wait time for the Comma harnesses.

Lukas' harness DO have the secondary port already built in so all that's needed is the pigtail adapter, whereas the Comma harnesses will need the harness mod AND the pigtail adapter.

Thank you for this information! I wish I would have known, but now may try to remove the Adapter from Comma, and order from Lukas. Not sure if I can as I am not getting a response from the support link.

Thank you - I ordered mine a few days ago, so I hope to receive it soon. I did not know that it has secondary port already built in. Good to know!

I’m really excited about the rapid developments here even though I’ve never experienced a car driven by a Comma. I’m probably getting one after the longitudinal control via steering wheel buttons is worked out.

If, when the dust settles, it’s about as good as Tesla AP then it makes me wonder why some manufacturers are even bothering to come up with their own solution. The Gen1 Rivians have, I think, 9 cameras and the MobilEye system all doing a worse job than a Comma AI with 3 cameras and OpenPilot. It seems like Rivian spent a lot more on hardware, and possibly development, to get a system so bad they abandoned development after 3 years of vehicle sales. This seems like a waste to me.

I bet manufacturers could sell vehicles with a Comma-Ready option which includes the connections and a factory-installed magnetic mount. It could be a high-margin option and the manufacturer could absolve themselves of dealing with most of the support owners need. This would be like the cell phone integration kits manufacturers sold before Bluetooth. “Oh, you need to talk to your cellular provider about problems with your phone.”

Edit: typo
Most manufacturers just license and install Mobileye or a competitive solution. They do not design/build their own. BMW uses Mobileye (expensive version) that works really well, others like Rivian GEN1 deployed the "cheapest" Mobileye ... Fortunately, Lukas opened a world of openpilot for us.

BTW, brands can not use openpilot due to liability issues (my guess).

Hmmm... Lukas might have disabled it for this build then until we get the button presses working. What you MIGHT be able to do is toggle on "Sunnypilot Longitudinal" in the developer menu, and just keep it on long enough to change the driving personality. I do think it will let you change it if you have that activated. Just don't keep it on - toggle it back off after you've made the change. I think the change will stick.
That worked, thank you.

Do we want "aggressive" mode or just standard instead of chill?

And what is/do we want "Longitudinal maneuver mode?"

For myself and others to follow a specific set of steps, is this right?

Menu...developer menu
Enable "sunnypilot Longitudinal Control (Alpha)"
Confirm in warning dialog
<Longitudinal maneuver mode?>
Go to toggles menu
Enable "Experimental Mode."
<Dynamic Experimental Mode?>
Set Driving Personality preference
Developer menu
Disable "sunnypilot Longitudinal Control (Alpha)"

This did not seem to work. I think I'm still on chill/basic and it's still way too conservative. I tried it twice, once out of the car and once in the car.

It likes to think the rivian is still driving. Reboot before doing it

You don't need all these steps. Especially you don't need to enable experimental mode (or dynamic experimental) unless you REALLY want to for some reason. But it's not a very good experience so I don't recommend it.

This is all you need to do:

Developer -> Enable "sunnypilot Longitudinal Control (Alpha)"
Toggles -> Set Driver Personality to "Aggressive"
Developer -> Disable "sunnypilot Longitudinal Control (Alpha)"

Also, I'm not 100% certain this works and that the change to "Aggressive" sticks, but it looks like it's selected on the menu even though it's grayed out again after disabling Sunnypilot longitudinal. It does FEEL more aggressive to me, but I don't know if I'm just imagining it.
