I have Apple Music through my cell phone provider (Verizon) and am able to listen to music on my phone. When I go to use the Apple Music in my Rivian it gives me a QR code which takes me to a log in to my Apple Music account (even though my phone is already logged in). When I go to log in again through the link it says I need to log on through an IoS device (which I don't have). I contacted Apple support but they were of no use. Is anyone aware of how to log on to Apple Music in the vehicle bypassing the QR code? I tried clicking on the App through the 3 month offer but it doesn't give me a log in option and says that I'm not eligible (probably because I already am logged in on my phone).
I know that I can stream through Bluetooth but I'd prefer to be logged on in my vehicle

It's been a while, but I remember there were a few bugs when signing in with the Apple update. I'm also on an Android phone with an existing Apple Music sub prior to the Rivian implementation. Try signing out of Apple Music on your Android phone that you will be signing in with the QR code. Then try the QR code again and sign in normally. Also make sure you are not on wifi when you are trying this troubleshoot.

Thanks for both of those tips. It still took me to the same screen which gave me this message

Log out of all Apple accounts (apps and browsers).
Power off cellphone (do not do restart)
Power cellphone up after waiting about 1 minute.
Open google chrome browser then Log into your Apple account (do not use incognito mode).
From rivian vehicle open Apple music scan QR code using cellphone camera.
Did it authenticate?

You should be able to log into your Apple account and your Apple Music account from a Win 10 or 11 PC and "update your account".(Whatever that is). You will need to download Apple Music to the Win PC first, your Apple login is at https://account.apple.com/signin . I don't think you really need iOS 12.

I spent over 6 hours on chat yesterday with Rivian, Apple & then my phone carrier Verizon and have no resolution. I'm canceling my Apple Music subscription but thank you.

In case you want to try plan B, I put all my CDs and a bunch of albums and singles I bought from iTunes on my Android. I downloaded the offline ad-free music player Pulse from the Play Store, put it on shuffle, and when I hop in my R1T I randomly hear tunes from my selection of over 1K songs.

Thanks. I actually have Sirius XM and YouTube Music (which I can stream). I just had an opportunity for free Apple Music from my Verizon account and thought I'd give it a go. I shouldn't have spent nearly as much time as I did trying to get it to work.

Before canceling...
Log into your Apple account via Google Chrome and make sure 2 factor authentication is enabled then try opening the QR code again from the Rivian.

If still not working wait for next Rivian software update before canceling Apple service.

This Apple vs Android crap is maddening at times.... We are a house divided , with my wife an Ipod>iphone>iwatch> user... her Dell Professional laptop for Solidworks/ Autocad even have an Apple sticker covering the Dell logo. I'm smarter 🤣 with a Galaxy S24>Galaxy Ultra watch> MS Surface Pro... I also have a work Iphone 14 Pro Max that was given to me for work related stuff... I don't even know what the phone number is for that thing and mainly use it as a hotspot... I turn it off when I leave, so they won't track me with it... lol. Regardless... we have some pretty interesting conversations about eco-systems at the dinner table...

Appreciate the feedback but there's an overall issue of me trying to associate my Apple Music account to an iCloud account that is still "active" from when I had a 2nd generation iPad. It won't allow me to do that which is why Apple pushed me to Verizon who tried to reset multiple times.
Dual authentication kept taking me in circles. Ultimately it was these 2 messages that hung me up
