I find it very curious that there are no deliveries reported for January, February, etc.

They are producing now, albeit slowly.

What is going on?
A friend of mine has already been given a January (maybe February) delivery estimate. I’m wondering if this has now changed since emails going out. I shot him a text, but haven’t heard anything.

Yes, LE was always supposed to deliver first. I think many of us would have chose differently had we known a the time how long this would all take.

No clue how many LEs there are. Could be a lot. They didn’t cut off LE orders by number, but rather by date. I am hoping there are lots of them as that will mean the wait for non-LE would be shorter once they get through the LE orders. Hopefully toward the end of ‘22 they might start mixing in some non-LEs into the production queue.
They did cut them off by number. They opened the configurator to pre-order holders for a week first, allowing them to lock in launch edition. By the time the configurator was set to open for non-pre order holders, all launch editions had sold out (5 days in). So I would assume they had set number they were selling and they reached that number only 5 days into the configurator.

This is my hope as well. ?

Two big concerns as the holder of a July - Sept slot.

1. That’s another 8-10 months for Rivian to hold prices. I know the price is not guaranteed but I’ll be angry over any change due to Rivian’s failure to project delivery over last 2 years.
2. Will we be receiving 2022 MY in Sept. 2022? That pretty much immediately hurts my vehicles value.

R1S - I put later because no email yet, but given that I waffled over the past two years and finally reserved one only a few weeks ago I assume it may be a while.

As a non-LE order holder, it’s interesting to me that the launch editions seem to be the only thing they intend to ship in 2022. Noticing several orders well after my order now getting delivery just by choosing the LE. I don’t remember Rivian suggesting that you’d receive delivery sooner if you switched to LE when it was an option but had I known that I’ll be getting my truck a year later then perhaps I would have chosen differently.
Did you get a delivery window?

Yes, you might be right, but will hold out hope for Sep 22…..was thinking to game the system and change location to Irvine CA and then drive to LA/Long Beach and ship it myself

It's nice to finally have a date. That there's a delay bugs me a lot less now.

@Matt D.

I'm wondering why people who reserved in 2020 will get their vehicles only a month or 2 after some of us 2018ers. i guess we'll see what happens. Hoping these are conservative estimates.
Indeed... We will see. At least I know how long I need to keep my rental car now.
