I got a full-sized spare off the local marketplace.

I've removed the "enclosure divider"and plopped the spare under the bed. But there's nothing securing it in place. For those who have gone the jerry-rigged spare route, what else is needed? Does Rivian sell a kit?

I'm thinking:

1. What can I use to secure the tire to the bed? Is it necessary to do so?
2. Torin 10T bottle jack + maybe a 2x4 plank for height.
3. Jack pucks
4. 22mm socket and breaker for lug nuts

Anything else?
Thanks!

You could see if they'll sell you the wing nut and stud from the official spare tire kit. This was from the invoice last fall on my R1T.

As mentioned, even without the hold down stud, the tire probably isn't going anywhere.

You can get a threaded rod and/or threaded wing nut to fashion a way to secure the spare, using the same threaded hole that was used to secure the partition you removed—similar to how the factory spare kit is secured. If you are getting that Torin bottle jack, consider getting the ARB jack base. It will provide stability for the jack, add about 2" to lift height needed to get tire off the ground and help hold down the spare (when placed through threaded rod, above wheel and under wing nut). Mcmaster.com is a good place to look for rod and wing nut.

When I bought my spare tire from the Gear Shop in '23, it came with the whole shebang (including jack) to secure the tire in the well. I guess they no longer include this?

They still do. OP bought spare tire and wheel second hand. Not a spare tire kit.

Ask around. I got "the whole shebang" when I ordered a spare tire from the gear shop. Mobile service delivered it, but all I needed was the holddown. Wound up giving the rest away since I already had all the other bits. Am sure others are doing the same. ☺

There's a couple revisions. This is the newer:

The kit included is less than awesome. The kit you have bought is significantly better. You did it right.

I just bought a single OEM wheel/tire from someone who presumably upgraded their vehicle to different shoes :) So no kit to speak of. Truth be told, I didn't really think through (oh, I'll need a jack, I'll need a breaker bar with socket, I'll need xyz) at the time.
