Folks: I'm going to be picking up a used Rivian R1T from the Chicago service center on Walnut Street on Saturday, June 14th.

I will be road-tripping back to Minneapolis, so heading up I-90 to Madison Wi, where I join up with I-94 and then on to Mpls. I have my NACS to CCS adapter (A2Z Typhoon) and a toll pass, and I want to stop and do a 'test charge' before I get too far out of Chicago so I can get back to the Rivian service center if I have a problem.

Can anyone recommend a good place to stop and charge on the way out of Chicago? I think either CCS or NACS would be OK, although ABRP seems to want to recommend Tesla sites for charging on the way home.

Any other suggestions of observations would be welcome. I'd love to stay and party with y'all in Chicagoland, but I've got to beat feet back to Minnesota to get stuff done on Sunday and be at work on Monday.

Thanks!

PlugShare seems to have CCS-1 options near I-90, close to Chicago SC, in Harwood Heights and on Northwest Highway.

Best wishes!

No charging help, but as one Minneapolis R1T owner to another - welcome!

May or may not be out of the way depending on how you route yourself but, I've used this station a couple times with great results. Worked well for my family on a road trip having several restaurants and a Polish grocery all within a stone's throw.

Congrats!
I picked up my used R1T from there last week, they gave it with 98%, my drive was only 42 miles thou.
Very friendly staff, in and out was around 30min.

I used to live to Tesla SC with ~20 chargers mostly empty,in Rolling Meadows, close to i90, lots of restaurants and meijer around it.
