Currently, all leases get it. But with the new Republican law coming into effect soon, no leases or purchases will (all but certain)
Rivian was a bit late with those lease offers. We (and several of our neighbors) ended up getting model Ys at the end of 2024, with $13k in tax refunds "offered at purchase," 0% financing, $1000 referral, and delivery in less than a week. I tried to tell the Rivian sales.

R1T and R1S are in a different league but for R2 Rivian really needs to be competitive.

Right now this looks very favorable for Rivian. The latest iteration of the Big Bloated Bill "implements a special rule for taxable year 2026 that only allows vehicles produced by manufacturers that have not sold 200,000 new clean vehicles as of December 31, 2025, to qualify for the credit.”

If this holds, Rivian will qualify but few others would. Unclear if the income cap will remain or if the US assembly will be required. The lease loophole is dead for sure.

Yes I saw that and it will help US based manufacturers like Rivian and Lucid.

Rivian will have delivered ~160K vehicles by the end of 2025. The Amazon vans count too. So, 40k vehicles may get them in 2026, but that’s really immaterial in the long term.

It would be a significant bump for the 2026 model year IF (and I have zero reason to believe this) Rivian could start producing R2 early and at scale. The only way it has a meaningful impact on R1 is if the income cap goes away like it was in the original program before the democrats "improved" it.

2025 Rivian R1T - Large. Delivered on November 23, 2024.

We love the R1T Dual-Large, and I am glad to see the the increase on both the R1S and R1T is only $90. We fully expect to get a new Rivian in 2026. That is not bad at all considering that every other manufacturer is all over the map with moving vehicles.

Incentives are possibly a factor too.

Rivian might be experiencing success with their promotional incentives. Increasing a base price while increasing promotions happens a lot in the business world.

I find the practice annoying, but it's what Rivian should do if it's demonstrated to work.

Really hoping for R2 to come out soon. And more importantly, it needs to be in good price bracket.

There is no wiggle room sadly, based on how things are going, if Rivian is inflexible on pricing.
