How does this lease sound?

I have a lease offer for a 36 month, 12,000 mile r1s for $850 per month for a dual max pack performance, granite exterior, ocean coast interior and premium sound. This includes a $8500 trade in. Is this a good price or should I wait?

You need to provide a few more details to get feedback. For instance, what incentives does this include besides the $7500 EV tax credit? Is the $8500 trade in covering all down payment costs, what is your total out of pocket? Does the payment include taxes?

Good point. Yes I would need to pay $6700 at signing for taxes. This includes the $5000 performance incentive and $3000 EV trade in incentive. The trade in offer for my Model Ybis $2000 more than what Tesla offered me.

So the $8500 is equity from the trade in that you are applying to the order as a down payment in addition to the $6700? Does the $8500 include the additional $3000 trade in credit? Also are you sure it's a max pack, the $5k lease offer is for large pack? Probably best to post a screenshot of all the details you are seeing in the financing page.

yes to all the above, supposedly they are expanding the $5000 offer to the max pack as well. Been talking to a Rivian rep.

FWIW new lease offers are around 1200/mo for similar config, which includes 15k in incentives from Rivian. So if you extract your down payment via trade of 8500 over 36 months, you save a little bit on the used.

Recommend you do the math - contact Rivian sales and they'll point you to the deals they are currently offering.

I only know this because they reached out and I priced out a TriMax and nearly pulled the trigger.
