As I look to the future with respect to building out the EV Play ecosystem, I wanted to gauge interest in a small wireless device that would allow you to assign a physical button or knob to common touch screen functions. Think buttons/knob for liftgate, chargeport door, frunk, lock/unlock, drive modes, HVAC controls, etc. Retailing in the $125-ish range and offered as a standalone product or as an add-on to EV Play.

Reply with "I'm in!" if you have interest and feel free to leave comments and/or suggestions. The device is wireless and rechargeable so let me know where you would mount it: Under/side of the screen, under the dash, charge pad, just free-floating, or ? My preference is under the dash or on the charging pad since the other areas would not be fun to develop a mount for.

Also, pre-order holders for EV Play -- keep an eye on your inbox tomorrow for an exciting update!

Switches tied to whatever function I wanted would be very welcome. Personally I would pay more if I got buttons/switches that looked nicer and matched the level of the interior. I have an Ascend interio r and those would really stick out as not belonging.

I'm in. A knob for the temperature would be nice.

Also (if posible) a button that cycles Radio/Apple Music/ Bluetooth options would be awesome (ala source select on other vehicles).

That was the intention for the gray and black color combo with a slightly modern/minimalist design. I don't know if I would do anything different for the Ascend trim. I suppose you could try and match the wood -- which would never work -- but then I feel they become a bit too noticeable. There are enough gray accents in all the trims where the black & grey design works, especially if mounted under the dash.

Indeed. That needs more than one 'touch' hence why I mentioned.

The knob for temperature, is to avoid multiple 'clicks' when changing temps and maybe needing to pay attention to the road. I always aim good at first a then miss the rest of the touches and enable seated heats by accident 😂

Those are awesome, but where would you mount it?!
Not sure, maybe below the screen, just under the dash. It might be cool to have that switch in some type of enclosure so it can be flipped open when in use.

My interest depends on what you could tie the buttons to. Drive modes would be great, as would disabling auto ride height.

I think you can make most locations look better by better integrating the enclosure with the interior instead of having it as a plain box. Sculpting it a bit to fit alongside the left of the screen might be my preference, but a well integrated panel just forward of the charging pads could also look good and would be easily accessible.

That CTRL Bar looks very nice.

Is is possible to do CarPlay, but as an overlay only between the top and bottom menu bars? This would require quite a bit more advanced coding since you're blending two video feeds and touch interfaces, but would allow direct access to HVAC, seat heaters, etc. Would also make it seem a bit more integrated.

I’m in. Temp adjust without looking, drive modes without switching screens, always avail audio sources (or better “station” buttons)
