$0 deductible glass covers all glass on the car including the roof.
Yours may, not ALL of them do. Everyone needs to review this themselves. I had options to get full glass, partial, with or without deductibles. For me, the cost of the glass coverage was absolutely not worth it on this car. But on other cars the cost has been low. Ironically, my Jeep was super cheap, but it's the one that had two windshield hits because of the glass angle.

Your professional PPF installer looks excellent. So was mine. no fly-by-night or vehicle manufacturer outfit.

Did you look at 10-mil PPF?
My R1S has 10-mil PPF and ceramic coating on every single piece of trim, pillars, metal panels, lights, pano roof dividers. even chrome trim. Everything except for the black bumpers and bottom trims, and the glass.

Have looked for and checked the warmth coming off the pano roof. It seems fine as I have not felt heat on my head or heard complaints about it, but again, the weather where I live is nothing like the hellish TX heat, hail, etc. My Teslas pano roof is perfectly fine as is also. Even in TX. I will keep this in mind, though. Thank you.

I do carry full safety glass coverage on my Rivian and my Teslas with $0 deductible. Pay $111 every 6 months for my R1S. Total peace of mind, well worth it for me.

No idea what Rivian will charge for a pano roof or windshield or any glass replacement for that matter, but I do know that I will pay nothing if and when I have to replace any glass or lights. And only Rivian and Tesla will ever touch my cars.

I just did ceramic tint and added $0 deductible glass coverage to my policy for $16/6 months.
I have it on all my cars, too, for about the same price.

Cost and availability will obviously vary per individual, vehicle, and state.

I did a quick Google search and I didn’t realize $0 glass deductible is apparently only offered in a handful of states.

While my state requires it to be offered, they don't cap the price. So it's like saying that in my state, Leer jets are available for ANYONE to buy. Sure, thanks.

Right. Leer jets and glass coverage are in the same price range.

Gotcha.

Some people can extrapolate from missing.

Some cannot.

I ran a quote again for glass, now it's down to only doubling my premium, so there's that.

Just FYI, we will be releasing windshield and sunroof PPF soon, for those who want to DIY. I just finished testing last week and now I need to make the template, install video etc, but it's coming soon :)

I have never considered putting PPF on the windshield. It seems like it would damage more easily than glass, causing visibility issues. Certainly, it protects the glass, but it does that by absorbing the impact and getting damaged itself. And then you have to look through that damage.

Will a bug damage it? If you hit a lot of bugs, can you clean them off without impacting visibility?

Has anyone lived with PPF on the windshield for a few years, and how does it wear over time?

full glass coverage available in every state my insurance company serves. Similar price.
Glass insurance same price of a Leer jet?
Not sure I get it, but okay. Then, glass insurance=Leer; no glass insurance=747-8.

Doubling your insurance premium?
I think that either you are hands down the absolute worst possible driver ever conceived, or you are getting ripped off big time, or all of the above.

I had a cheap tinted PPF on my sunroof for 3 years. Took maybe an hour to install, wasn't hard even though it was my first attempt.

Just removed it last week, no issues. Cost about $50. Got the idea from someone else in this forum.
So just curious, did it help for you? Why are you removing it?

I also have a roll of this cheap PPF but haven't installed it yet, and debating whether to do it...

The opposite. Since I have an insanely low insurance rate, the glass coverage itself costs as much as everything else.

That would have added so much to my premium that it would be like a new windshield very 18 months, so obviously not worth it.
If doubling your premium would cost as much as you claim, that does not sound "insanely low" to me.

Really don't know why you're debating this so much.

Doesn't make sense for you. Great. No one really cares.

Makes sense for me and we're in the same state. Clearly a sensible option for a few others who have replied here as well which is why I mentioned it.

No need to keep dramatically criticizing the option.

Get over it.

You are by far one of the most opinionated, arrogant, and needlessly argumentative members here. It's too bad, too. You sometimes have some interesting things to share.

You are also now the first on my ignore list in my 5 years here.

OP - apologies for getting off track. Thanks again for sharing this PPF option.

Sounds as if you have a hell of a smoking deal on insurance.
Insured to the hilt and with quite a low rate, glass coverage on my two Teslas and my Rivian added 10% to my policy.
Coverage already paid for itself with Tesla replacing my Model Y windshield. That and window film reinstalled , $1,500+. My cost, $54, the price of glass coverage for it :).
