Utah Rivian current and future owners will be agog!

While I don’t understand why the operational RAN station in Durango CO isn’t listed on the map - even as an upcoming location - but is listed in the vehicle and phone app map, I just looked carefully at the website map!

Holy smokes there are 6! planned stations in Utah alone! The Salt Lake one has been there but now’s 5 more! Green River and Moab and others.

in Cali, there’s one in Irvine a mile away from me and one in Orange, Temecula, Jacumba and Mammoth! Even one in Casa Grande AZ. What no Tucson yet?

Anyway check out the website! You’ll be pleasantly surprised unless there aren’t new ones planned near you yet.

The one in Casa Grande, AZ is actually Maricopa. The most interesting to me and the one I have been saying, why isn't there one here is Jacumba, CA, which for those of us who go home to San Diego from AZ is perfect!

Interesting. Thanks for pointing that out. I personally don't really head that to that area but I'm sure it'll be useful for some folks - especially those driving between to/from the valley and San Diego or Rocky Point as a Gila Bend alternative. I would have personally found Casa Grande or Tucson more useful but I'm sure there are many permitting, infrastructure, and site challenges of which I'm unaware.

Great that the network is still expanding. Hopefully there will be much need for them when R2 starts rolling out.

I said it before but I don’t understand the continued investment in RAN.

The barrier to entry for someone with a parking lot to installing a DCFC or a level 2 charger is just desire, a little cash, and the ability to email Chargepoint, AmpUp, or any of the other vendors.

It’s a low margin business, more expensive for them to site and install than that competition, and I don’t see how they are likely to get to the economies of scale manufacturing their own DFCF to make it profitable enough to spend time and attention on.

BP Pulse has this site almost ready in Eloy. 400kw chargers with CCS and NACS.

Near that location, Loves and Pilot are also building chargers. Not sure why Rivian would waste money in this area.

Also, Pilot has an open site in Rio Rico, near Nogales.

Once that big Tesla supercharger opens at the casino at the top of the hill, the SD drive will be a lot easier. El centro is a pain and I avoid that one like the plague

I’m just super excited for Jacumba because going on the dirt for the entire south section of Anza Borrego becomes way more comfortable to do!

Yay for St. Regis, Montana!!!
But why St Regis, when there is already an under-utilized but very convenient Tesla DCFC station there? Will the Rivian station be cheaper for Rivian drivers? Rivian would do well to place some stations along I-90 further east in eastern Montana, NE Wyoming, and South Dakota which are currently charging “deserts”

Agreed to a point. I really don't want to give Tesla money, is my personal reasoning. Having a non-Tesla option right there in St. Regis is going to be great.
