REQUEST: Show current town in Google Maps

I didn't realize how much I relied on this in my Tesla until I got a Rivian. Google Maps in Rivian does not tell you your current location, which would be very helpful, especially on road trips. Wondering how hard it would be to add this.

+1 on this. Was just on a road trip and was frequently trying to figure out what towns we were going through. I miss this from the Tesla.

Read rest of thread? UI does have location info in driver display. You can also use nav screen to see what town is nearest. It’s like PC and Mac. Illogical to expect two different operating systems to have menu items in exact same location.

Be careful how much you ask for. Our '16 Sierra EV uses Google Maps and it always shows the distance to places that I've routed to in the past. Most annoying for me is this storage place where I bought a marketplace item. I have found no way to change the setting or even clear the data in my Google account. Guess I'll have to use Apple Maps on my phone if I want to route to the local rub and tug

Weird, my diver display shows it in the upper left.

Mine too. I would like map to show the road I am currently on - like it used to.

Yeah they really need to add this feature. The driver screen only shows it when it's in park, not while you're driving, especially if you have navigation on.

Mine shows while driving.

I do now recognize that the driver's display shows the current town, even while driving. Haven't tried while in navigation mode, but at least it shows where I am when I'm not.

Yah, in addition to the top left pane in driver display, you can always zoom out and/or scroll at the center display to glance and see what's around. Then tap recenter when done.
