Late 2028 ish if ever.Hey,

I think he was joking but 2025 seems a reasonable bet as they will need to build a factory and the service centers. I agree with you earlier point about the R2 or R1C (whatever the two row vehicle is called) being the one for European markets. The R1S could be sold but they would be a niche due to their size and cost (high sales tax).Where did you get this information? We hear at the end of 2022, but without any other information

Thank you for your answer, I bought a model y and 2 model 3. But for the same amount you have the rivian. I also found the article for 2022. But I wondered if they could really make this work.Davy,
After poking around the Internet for a little bit, I found the following article from six weeks ago. It does indicate that perhaps in addition the seeing the Electric Delivery Van coming your way in 2022, the R1S may also be there this year. It references R2 and R3 vehicles being the volume units of passenger vehicles intended for Europe, but says the R1S is on its way there this year.
"Speaking to reuters.com in November 2020, Scaringe said that Rivian is working on smaller models that are fit for new markets. The Rivian R1S SUV and the Rivian R1T are simply too big for most countries outside North America. The company plans to launch the Rivian R1S in Europe and China anyway, in 2022. However, it expects “follow-on products” to “really drive volume” there:"
In addition to the Reuters link, there are links to Bloomberg's and MotorTrend that are also interesting. There's some info about the search for factory locations there, as well.
I'm guessing most people on this forum might caution you to temper expectations of much R1S volume arriving there this year, but it does sound like they may be available by year's end. Good luck in securing one. I'm guessing you would be in rare company should you secure one.
Good luck, Vee gheluk, Bonne chance!

Goodness, I just bought a Model Y and live in Chicago, and the width is unnerving in everyday driving to the extent I’m a little concerned about my R1S preorder. You must have some excellent driving precision.Thank you for your answer, I bought a model y and 2 model 3. But for the same amount you have the rivian. I also found the article for 2022.
