There is this video on YouTube of some software updates that Rivian should have had by now. Many of them are pretty reasonable, some will be hard to do, some may not be possible at all. But I like the screen layout suggestions, like trip computer, weather, altitude, and media. These should be easy. The PAAK solution is acceptable but doesn’t fix the issue. The others are ok but maybe not urgent.
Maybe Rivian is just spreading out the updates so there is always more coming…or maybe Gen 1 owners will slowly be left out. 😬

This is basically the list.

-Disable PAAK from app

-Control power outlets from app

-Trip computer, clock, off-road pages shown on driver display

-Lane keep cancel only

-Resume ACC set speed

-Altitude & weather shown on Maps

-Pitch/Roll meter shown in camp mode

-Better phone integration

-Primary/secondary phone bluetooth media control

-Creep, Crawl, and Coast

-Cornering lights

-Power off button

-Auto off parking lights

-Proximity cargo open

-Delayed lock when passenger is sensed.

I agree with everything here but WHERE IN HADES is the V2H update that Rivian has promised since DAY ONE! It’s like @Wassym is trying to be as reliable as Elon with his software promises.

Oh and Carplay…. because I want more laugh emoji responses… 🤪

Cruise resume seems like a big miss. Maybe autonomy will bring it soon. I’d also like to see speed-dependent spacing. The space I like at 30mph is different than at 70mph.

Aside from the valet and teen mode (covered ad-nauseum in other threads) ... it would be cool if they could re-purpose the right-side buttons and scroll wheel on the steering wheel when cruise control is not on.

Make it so the right scroll wheel can toggle drive modes. Think switching from All purpose to conserve or sport. Maybe require a press first so you don't do it by accident. Make it so ride height adjustments can happen too with a button press. That could work well if you off road also.

I feel like it already uses speed-dependent spacing. In heavy traffic, going slow, the Rivian seems much closer to the car in front and increases distance the faster you go. I have it set to the closest follow distance so maybe that's why.

Get the heck out of here with an on/off button. My wife's mercedes EQE has one and it's one of the most frustrating/infuriating things about the car.
Agreed. Don’t follow blindly Tesla when you can’t code like Tesla. Lots of good things can be learned from traditional automakers too like, odometer, door handles, no squeaky noises, climate adjustments. Rivian is a solid car, all controls should have same feel — tangible, robust.

it's funny they kind of have this on the loaners now they will not exceed 85mph so they clearly thought it was a good idea to limit top speed on the rivians their customers use as loaners, should be easy to do a valet version that limits acceleration to 50% or something.

Yup. It’s the only way my soon to be 16 year old son will be driving my car by himself.
