Hey Rivian Gang,

Happy BLACK FRIDAY, and we're excited to introduce our lasted new product! Hurry to order now, our Black Friday BLACK15 code works to save 15%!

Today we introduce the NEW, next generation Running Boards for Rivian R1T / R1S -- as the original source of running boards and endless innovators, we never rest. Our new RMaxx Aluminum Running Boards are just as great as our originals, but now they are also the LIGHTEST weight running boards on the market:

Features:

All the same greatness from the originals:
  • Aerodynamic design, sits up tight to vehicle and fits within the side aero curtain on truck - no impact on range
  • No loss of ground clearance - our brackets sit up flush and do not 'hang down' like others (which looks poor and creates range-killing aero drag)
  • Totally clears jack puck point - no concern with Rivian service, these are Rivian-service friendly
  • Great looks, no 'logos'
  • Strong, jump all over them, we've designed them to handle all the loads

Plus the NEW greatness:

  • Made from high-strength aluminum alloy -- results in maximizing range (by reducing weight vs steel running boards)!
  • Made from high-strength aluminum alloy -- much easier to handle and install!
  • Made from high-strength aluminum alloy -- still powder coated in textured black and aluminum never rusts!
  • No more 'tread plate bolts' -- tread plates are welded on, results in a cleaner look, faster/easier to install, and no bolt heads to look at on the tread plate
  • Improved packaging to protect the goods during delivery

Hi EV Sportline - For some reason, the BLACK15 code has stopped working for lightweight aluminum running boards. However, It works for steel ones.
Are new boards excluded lately?

I placed a order for older set on Nov 7. They don't look like have shipped, I did contact support to see the status but haven't heard back. Will it be possible cancel my order and put in a order?

Yes, certainly possible to change the order as long as it hasn't shipped -- please email [email protected]

I see that the new model looks good, although I would prefer the R1T cutout in it. Why are these nearly triple the cost of the original ones rather than these being expensive vehicles and you expect people paying over $80K not to complain about $1500? I just can’t see the justification for the steep price increase. $699 would have been golden.

The originals are 899. The new aluminum version is 1299. More expensive yes, but not triple. Why? Because aluminum (frames and treads) and stainless steel (brackets) cost a lot more than alloy steel. It’s a fair premium. These are the best available running boards:

✅ Lightest
✅ best aero / least impact on range
✅ Tightest fitting
✅ No “logos”
✅ Clears jack points
✅ Available optional aero covers
✅ No ground clearance loss
✅ US based company
✅ Designed and engineered by us - not copies
✅ Easy to install (not heavy)
✅ Best looking too 😄

Looks like a great update to an already great product. One question, what is the "aero cover plates"?

aero cover plates refers to out bolt-on replacement covers that replace the factory plastic covers. Our aero covers come equipped with ports to allow our brackets to pass through, so no 'cutting' of the plastic panels are required. See the aero covers directly HERE

I have the original running boards on my R1T. They are rusting for sure. Just the boards though. The under body area where I used the hole saw to remove the aero cover plastic and the bolts seem to be fine in terms of rust though. Any advice for keeping the rust to a minimum besides cleaning/painting?

I read in the product description on your website that the boards clear the jack points. Does that mean that I can leave them installed when the truck goes to Rivian service (For the lift purposes)? They told me once at a previous appointment that they would have to be removed or they'd charge me to take them off and would NOT reinstall them again after.

Otherwise, the running boards have been fantastic. Really help my wife and 5 year old get up into the truck much easier.

Definitely do not need to take them off for Service - and if you have any problem with a service center claiming that, please reach out to us - we can help with our direct relationship with Rivian.

Sorry about your tread rust, we can swap that out for you if you like! Chicago is pretty harsh winter/salt, I lived there for a few years and my jeep (which was new) started rusting in only 2 years! We do have a rubberized coating that we made for servicing scratches but some folks spray it on as another layer of protection too - check it HERE. It's really nice, if you have years of wear on the running boards, you can re-spray them with this and they look new again.

Thanks again!
