I’m saying red canyon isn’t available for the dual standard
Sure, but you also said it was directly due to the addition of Borealis, which simply isn't the case.

And tri. Which I am slightly disappointed by. Miami is going to be the only gen2 quad exclusive so far.
Quad gets burnished bronze 20" and 22" options, Tri doesn't get either, according to the configurator online right now. Would look good with a yellow caliper too IMO, but they do need more stuff to differentiate the Quad. The Quad otherwise looks the same on the outside as the base model dual motor that is nearly half its cost.

Something else interesting to me: When you click limestone paint for any of the builds, you get a pop up saying "only a few left" with the shop inventory and no option to select the color for a new build. Perhaps they are discontinuing limestone or pausing it like canyon red.

Better hope it never gets scratched or needs body work, no way anyone is matching that paint (or even going to try) for such a limited run vehicle that's not a hypercar.
Who cares, I've learned to accept scratches. Im in the "Used to give too much of a damn about car exterior anonymous" :)

I know a few Rivian 'collision centers' that would benefit from this advice :) One of the reasons they pulled compass yellow was how hard it was to color match - every batch was a tiny bit different.

Also - I hate to be the bearer of bad news - Purple is only acceptable on 911's - I don't make the rules (honest!) but thats just the way it is.

Ohhh, I really like this color (for someone else). Think it should be named Purple Rain.

No disrespect to those of you who love this, but this goes to the bottom of my list of color choices. On the flipside, I feel the R1s would look nice in nearly any color, just like how Margot Robbie or Henry Cavill could step out wearing a plain white t-shirt, and we'd call it chic. I do love that Rivian continues to offer both standard color, like Silver & El Cap, and bold unique colors in their lineup like this and blue/yellow/red. Would love to see Yellow return to the Tri-max to show off the caliper match.

Reporting was that 2026 models were dropping Red and Limestone, but I was happy to see them still listed this morning. Limestone is in my top 3 and I love the red too.

I think a lot of people wanting color now just wrap it... sky's the limit on color then.

Leasing Model 3 until R3X comes out, but now I have an R2 reservation as well.
Tail wagging the dog.

If all that's on the lot is black, white, gray, (and blue-tinted gray, green-tinted gray, etc.), then that's what's going to sell most. If a manufacturer advertises yellow, then none of the dealers will order that (or maybe just 1 for the novelty) because they only care about selling cars quickly. Then if the manufacturer only gets a few orders from dealers for that color, that color gets dropped early in the model year.

By the time the consumer gets to choose, it's almost back to the days of Henry Ford - we can get any color we want as long as it's black, white, or gray. I don't believe that the color options we see on the dealer lot reflect consumer choice.
We’re stuck in a colorless loop, except for blue. And to make matters worse some automakers charge you extra for uncommon colors, which deters people even more. It sucks.

True, but wraps are sometimes more expensive than some paint options.

Just to clarify, wraps can be more expensive than "OEM" paint options. Having a vehicle repainted, unless by someone sketchy, will almost always cost more....

The name of mine is Gloss Plum Explosion. I'm an old Mopar guy, so my choice started around Plum Crazy, but I wanted more pop....
