2023 R1s conserve more no power

Hi I just got a 2023 R1s quad two days ago and I am trying it’s functions out … in conserve mode at low speed it is ok but at 50 and above it has no power will not even accelerate is this normal? Pedal to the floor? All modes drive just fine I am coming from a model x Tesla .. the Rivian feels weak? Unless you put your foot in it ..

Conserve mode is only using the front two motors so you only have half the power available. Take the truck out of conserve mode.

I understand half the power but at 400hp it can’t accelerate? 60 mph floored and does not move I am asking is this normal? Only had it for two day

No, that doesn’t sound right. In a quad using conserve switches to only using the 2 front motors, but you should still be able to accelerate as needed. It should feel like you have about half the power it does with all 4 motors active. Are you getting any error messages?

Before you call service I would try a hard reset and see if that clears whatever is happening. That is always worth a shot since these vehicles are basically 835hp rolling computers.

Below are the 2 types of resets that you should get familiar with. If you have some kind of weird infotainment or camera behavior you can try the software reset. If it’s something that feels performance or mechanical related try the hardware reset. Or try the hardware reset if the software reset doesn’t work.

I only use conserve mode on road trips or when I really need to save battery, it’s just your front two motors as others have said. In the new quad they are also smaller motors, so makes sense that it would be more noticeable. It’s always a shock when I punch it in conserve expecting a visceral response and get meh

How does it behave in all-purpose and sport?

It’s a 2023 trying out my first rivian .. I did a reset with the left steering button and hazard and nope it reset everything but still same .. when driving below 50 it has power and moves but anything higher it is just dead .. I had it in ap then switch to conserve st 70 it does nothing no pedal I actually start loosing speed .. it suck I just got it two days bought it from a Mercedes dealership and had them deliver it… I am still waiting on Rivian to put me on the ownership it has been close to five days already .. it still has plenty of factory warranty .. has 24k miles

Power reduced or speed limited should come with a notice on the dash. What's your SoC? What year/trim was your Model X?

go to Driver Profiles > Select Profile > Speed Limiter.

if that don’t work, then enter Service Mode via Settings > Vehicle > Service, then tap the yellow bar 5x and use passcode 33748

I think power reduced once floor it will try to increase speed but barely move or nothing .. and the battery was about 80 percent …. Tesla model x 2021 … also go a Kia ev9 that feels that It can keep up with this Rivian … R1s has all terrain tires it is noisy … or humming from powertrain ? This is all new for me .. once I get my transfer of ownership I can use the app and request service to check it out ..

What can I do in service mode? Change Speed limiter for conserve?
Right now I am pending ownership I am limited what I can on the app… I can’t even used the maps or set some basic setting .. maybe it has a bad software glitch? Already do the hard reset lost a lot settings now the outside temp doesn’t even work ..before I can’t connect wifi after reset works… now I can’t save radio stations or used the maps? Not sure it glitchy or I have to set as owner to do this stuff

Something is not right with that quad, should still have decent scoot when in conserve mode for normal driving I've had it around 90mph on conserve so there is plenty of power left.

If you don't already own it, walk away from it there are plenty on the used market not worth the risk of whatever is wrong with that truck.

maybe the previous owner changed the profile max speed.
service mode will tell you if something is wrong.

R1s has all terrain tires it is noisy … or humming from powertrain ? This is all new for me ..

Coming from a Tesla, the Rivian will feel noisy. We, specifically my wife, have a 22 M3 and when we got our 1st Gen R1T, this is the first thing my wife noticed.

My Tesla MY is very loud above about 60 mph, I guess YMMV
