I had the wipers out in service mode. I had to make a trip to the bathroom, to you know, drop something off. As we all do (don't lie) I got my phone out for some entertainment during the process. I also looked at my charge stats to see what I had used after a road trip. When I was done, I set the phone on the counter, and managed to swipe a finger over the "open frunk" button.

I about jumped out of my...well, seat, but that would have been messy. And no way to save it anyway.

I wondered what sort of mangled mess the wipers would be. But...the truck only UNLOCKED the frunk, and didn't actually lift it. Whew. Smart.

We like to bitch about bugs and bad design here, and it's often deserved, but this one was well thought out.

Alternate thread title: Rivian's smart software logic prevents a shitty situation?

I do software things
I’d check if you had a CCTV pointed at your camera just then. I’ve opened my frunk inside my garage where it would hit a overhead storage but it stops a little way down after point of contact/restriction.

I wonder if the wipers blocked the frunk from being opened early on and it shut itself back down

I would consider it shitty software otherwise.

I did look at the camera, and it showed nothing. When I went out, the frunk was unlatched, just up slightly, but never went up. I think if it hit a wiper it would destroy it first. Hitting the ceiling is very different from the flimsy wipers.

I wonder if it will close the charge port door if left open and not plugged in after x amount of time.

I rather enjoyed the post and good to know about the feature preventing the wipers from being ruint.
Besides, everybody does it.

So just like every other EV with an electric charge door...? Also, how can you forget to close it, if you never even try to remember, since...it's automatic.

Yes, I don't recall the timeframe. But I've left it just sitting, like while unloading or doing things, then come back to plug in and it's closed.

Yes it does. If you open the charge door from inside, but take too long to insert the charger, it will close the charge door.

Recommendation that eliminates 99% of the paperwork.

Do you recommend this particular model? That's a pretty low price for a full-featured bidet seat.

Again, oversharing, but here we are. I finished using it a few minutes ago and thought that I should send the link to my local friends who were recently talking about his. 100% yes, it's so comfortable, nice. First world problem for sure, I never thought I *needed* a warm seat and hot water, but LOVE it. Buy it. Price is great, install kit is excellent, performance and adjustability are really great.
