I saw an R1T today in the parking lot of a local city park. I didn’t really want to pore over someone’s new car but it looked good. Real California plates too, not mfg or dlr or paper.

Plate on the rear only. I saw it drive in under its own power

Aren’t those B plates black on white paper? This was a real stamped metal plate (commercial/pickup letter & number format) with the normal CA year and month stickers on it.

Yes, but they look very much like a full metal plate at a glance.

Of the 4 that I have seen in SoCal, 3 have had stamped CA metal plates. The other had the yellow mfg plate. None were running front plates.

I was following one yesterday while driving a marked unit and thought I should conduct a traffic stop and ask permission to search the vehicle. ?
