My R1T is Gen 2, 9 months old, and 9,000 miles.Thx. Issues with the card or phone being recognized, 12v, the car suddenly stopping, tonneau cover, door molding quality, software issues, warnings going off, range inaccurate, air suspension issues.
Without asking more questions - yes. Very much improved since Gen 1! (Corrected).Hi everyone I am about to lease a R1T 2026 dual motor max. This is my first EV. Ive been doing research but have found a lot of negative reviews that seem more related to the older models. I am curious if things seem to been improving for those that have done updates on their older models or have newer models with less issues. What are your thoughts? Sorry if this belongs in a different thread.
I'm driving my 3rd R1 series (1 truck, 2 SUV's) Never had any serious problems. I did have to do a hard reset once. The vehicles are pretty incredible. I believe some early adopters had unrealistic expectations. The key card does have to be placed where the picture on the card specifies for it to work.Thx. Issues with the card or phone being recognized, 12v, the car suddenly stopping, tonneau cover, door molding quality, software issues, warnings going off, range inaccurate, air suspension issues.
Same here. ‘25 Gen 2 Tri. Only issue was washer coolant leak on front camera in first month. Repaired promptly at Van Nuys SC - brought it back in after waiting a week for the parts. My R1T is Gen 2, 9 months old, and 9,000 miles.
- Phone and card - no issues, but there is a few second delay at times as truck wakes up
- 12v - no issues
- Car suddenly stopping - has never happened
- Tonneau cover - Newest version, no issues
- Door Molding quality - No issues
- Warnings going off - None have occurred
- Range inaccurate - No issues. Its surprisingly accurate for me when you consider temperature and wind variations it factors in. As good as my Tesla model Y. Generally, within 2% +-
- Air Suspension issues - none
No significant issues. However, software is still maturing.
Hi Noah was it because heavy towing outside of the max towing capacity ? I have a travel trailer that falls under the 11k max capacity and the rest of the numbers check out.2022 R1T at 99,600 miles -
Issues with the card or phone being recognized, Not a big deal. maybe when its raining
12v, Just got it replaced, After 90K I think its reasonable.
the car suddenly stopping, Never happened to me.
tonneau cover, An issue with the first generation. mine is out of alignment but I can live with it. No upgrade was offered to me.
door molding quality, Never had an issue Yet, many plastic moldings are somewhat flimzy.
software issues, Never had an issue that was significant to the vehicle operation.
warnings going off, Had some sensors going out at the beginning. they where replaced by Rivian and no additional issues.
range inaccurate, Really depends on your speed. your range is being determined by overall efficiency. range SIGNIFICANTLY drops as your speed increases so you should expect lower range when driving on the freeway at high speed
air suspension issues. Blew up one air suspension but that was because of heavy towing.... Otherwise ALL GOOD
If you get one USE IT.
