Anyone else notice this?

Maybe it will change with the update that came out today, but as I was driving home in the rain, it would not let me use Spicy. Just Normal. When I tried to change it to Spicy, it said "this drive mode is not available due to driving conditions". Or something like that, since I didn't take a picture of the message.

On one hand, I like it is increasing the following distance due to the wet roads, but on the other hand, the gap is huge and people cut in anyway.

At some point when I was in stop and go traffic, I was able to put it in Spicy. When the traffic cleared up, and my speed increased, it automatically changed back to Normal.

Dude.

You sure you weren't accidentally trying to put it in Off-road mode?

I'm sure. It was in Conserve. Highway driving.

It's a safety feature, I am sure. But a little annoying.

The three Autonomy+ drive modes are Spicy, Medium, and Mild. When you select Spicy, they show a little hot pepper. I love hot peppers.

I too love hot peppers… 🌶 just not on my dashboard. 😆 Now hanging from my bumper and we’ll talk.

Best bumper sticker I’ve ever seen for people like me who don’t like tailgating: (written in small font size). I BET YOU A NEW CAR, I CAN STOP BEFORE YOU

Runnner up: If you’re going to ride my A$$, The least you could do is pull my hair

In my experience, a large percentage of the reason for tailgating is the driver blocking traffic in the left lane. There are exceptions, with extremely aggressive drivers weaving in and out of of traffic that can't get out of the way fast enough, but that is a lot less common from what I have seen over the years.

I am always paying attention to traffic around me, and if someone behind me wants to go faster, I move out of the way. If everyone did that we would have a lot less tailgating.

Spicy mode doesn't tailgate anyway. In fact, it leaves enough space for people to cut in, which is annoying. I don't blame people for cutting in if I leave room for them to do it. So often I override Spicy to close the gap.

I have had UHF tell me it is not available for the rest of my drive. Not sure what I did wrong, or why it did that. No explanation. Your situation sounds similar, but I have not had it tell me to hold on to the wheel like that.

I see you have it in Mild mode. That is likely the problem.

This is normal. If you aren’t touching the steering wheel the inside camera starts monitoring your head and eye movements. The warning will go away once you start monitoring the road.
Lightly rest you hand or finger on the wheel and you won’t get the warning pop up and you can enjoy the scenery.
