I have had a number of crashes after installing. Not full shut downs, but infotainment freezes and then resets, after install. No such issues on the prior version. This update appears to have created some problems for the infotaiment system.

Launch mode also caused a front halfshaft to disconnect from a drive unit, but Rivian fixed it under warranty.

Agree with increased infotainment crashes… first time ever have I experienced those while driving. Twice in past week on the highway with Driver+ engaged. Reset done when arrived home after the first one. Second was a of couple days later with flawless function between. Had existing SC appt today for pre-60k list / comp inspection. Reported the crashes... we’ll see, but suspect deferred to next update. Definitely nerve-wracking.

I’m still baffled that we need to do restart after installing updates. I had to restart infotainment because of glitches and noticed that drivers display of cars and lanes was working MUCH better with more cars and lane accuracies. And I was using it at reduced capacity since installing the update for few days

That was my thought too but it’s not clear from the pic. Pic attached.

I would go with the written note that the range is reduced. I take this to mean the displayed range is already reduced. No further mental effort needed.

Why isn't Rivian just restarting it as the last step of the update? Silly.

I have not done a hard or soft reboot since this update, and my truck is behaving normally.

I have done it in the past, but not sure if it helped anything. Personally, I think it is a good idea to do a hard reboot a week or so after an update just to give the system a clean start. I will probably do it with my truck this week.

Mine took three days for XM to re-authenticate. The silence was deafening

I wonder if this is related to why the performance upgrade option disappeared for some people. Anecdotal evidence seems to suggest it's still there for the Gen 2 folks but maybe there was something in the upgrade software that had to be redone for Gen 1.

As far as the software updates go, I uh honestly haven't cared about a new feature since the blind spot cameras and I seem to be one of the peeps who has never lived the whole continual improvement experience. So much of my shit is broken now and I kinda wish I'd never updated it since I bought it. My proximity lock at home hasn't worked since they put in google maps (because everywhere is 'home' now for some bizarre reason), I lost navigation and scheduled charging. I don't honestly think I'm getting either of those back because it seems Rivian deprecated the simple versions of those that didn't rely on being able to phone home through the internet. My truck has a GPS but since two updates ago doesn't know where it is and I'm a little terrified of installing updates that might fix something because I may lose something else that still works. I'd probably give them money at this point to be able to roll back.

I'd have been happy to get nothing apart from bugfixes and just still have everything that I had when I took my truck home the first time. I suppose it's nice it seems they listened to people's biggest gripes about sport mode. That seems to be a straight-up improvement for all owners. I'll give them some props for that.
Performance upgrade option has returned to my app after the recent update -FYI.

It's a computer on wheels. I had a minor issue of Apple Music suddenly stops playing a track after resuming a song from a previous drive. Then I realized I forgot to reboot after the update. So far so good after the reboot.

I just got the update and noticed that once car is in park I can not make it kneel with new shortcut. But if car is already kneeling, I can make it raise while in park.
Is this normal? Seems like a bug.

I'll take Phone as a Key improvements for $100 Alex.

Half the time, I still have to take my phone out of my pocket, open the app and by then the vehicle unlocks (I don't need to click unlock in the app). Otherwise, I can press on the driver's door handle until the end of time with the phone in my pocket and, many times, nothing will happen. iPhone 17 Pro, same issues when I had the 16 Pro since I just upgraded phones a few weeks ago.
Funny, just got my S and its behavior with my ancient iphone 12 in my pocket with the Apple wallet gizmo is hilarious. Every time I walk out to the garage, it’s lights on, door handles out, little happy noises that seem to say “oh boy, oh boy we’re going for a ride!”. More excited than my dog, frankly. Then I walk away, and there’s a sad clunk, lights off and door handles sadly retract. Every single time, and sometimes even when I’m walking down the hall before I even get to the garage.

I have proximity lock/unlock turned off when the truck is at home. All that unlocking and locking is annoying to me.

Anyone else feel that returning to normal ride height (AP - Standard) from kneel is taking much longer now? I am not sure if the lower kneel height is attributing to it.
I park in the same spot at work every day. On the way out of the parking lot there are 2 speed bumps. Before this update by the time I hit those speed bumps I was at normal height, now when I go over the bumps I am still building height and the bumps are very jarring.
