For those that have watched it. Is this a "podcastable" video, or do I need the visual details to get the content?!?!

Would like to stream on the way to/from the office, but can't watch youtube while driving.

I don't need it on my app. I want it on my driver screen.

Perhaps its is of no requirement for you. If you are an urban driver in wingtips and never go off-road, the trip gauge or elevation information has little use for you. There are some drivers who actually think of this vehicle as an “adventure” vehicle. We are concerned about milage and elevation for waypoints for published off road excursions without having to switch between screens.

If you have have no desire for this feature, you should have the option to turn it off. But do not deny everyone else because you don’t want it.
You still have the trip meters for setting your way points and such, why do you need the cumulative odometer in direct view?
Honest curiosity, I admit I can't understand your viewpoint on this.
I'm a mountain biker and this vehicle's primary adventure mode for me is getting out all kinds of mountain trails, forestry roads and many back country camp zones. I'm not a hard-core off-roader (reason I went with dual motor).
I've come to accept that some flipping between screens is part of the deal with these beasts. Not always elegant or efficient, but I think we're all adapting.
Anyways, this seems a small matter. Enjoy the road!

For the design and UI stuff, you need to watch (IMHO). For the RJ section at the end, you can just listen.

I just stuck it in my ear while washing dishes... He's just sitting in front seat with the execs.

Think you will miss a lot of context during the Hammoud portion, as he walks around the vehicle and explains various design elements. I think the Scaringe part at the end would be fine audio-only.

I'm at a loss as well. I'm not sure how it is with Rivians, but on my Tesla, I can swipe the entertainment card and have the trip/odometer displayed all the time. However, I never do this, because it's not really necessary for day-to-day driving.

The only time I've used my odometer reading in the past three years is when I go to Discount Tire, and they ask me what the mileage is, and when I put my Tesla into Carvana/Carmax/Rivian to get trade-in values.

Ah right, forgot about the design part at the beginning...

I appreciated RJ fidget clicking through the menu while he digested the question and formulated a response. Some real inner introvert stuff that I relate to

It has always puzzled me when someone says, “I don’t need it so why would anyone else want it?” It is one step from the “Anointed Visionary” who wants control everyone else’s life and drives 64MPH in the left lane.

I also have a dual motor. I am not “rock climbing” but I pursue off-road trails suggested by various writers. Being able to look at map and milage points without digital gymnastics IS NOT an unreasonable request.

You are correct. It is NOT elegant or efficient - and it could be updated without major programing.

If you don’t want the option if offered, don’t use it. Happy pedaling.

Good video...always fun to see execs sharing information and how passionate they are about what they do. I did notice that RJ was very composed throughout most of the interview, but he got very fidgety when the question about the VW JV came up...started messing with the main screen seemingly for no reason, etc. Not sure if that's reading too much into it since I'm sure there's a lot he can't talk about publicly even if he wanted to. From other videos it did seem like the JV was working well for the purely electric vehicles and maybe the issues that have been reported on are actually related to things like the Scout vehicles with their EREV drivetrain that Rivian's system wasn't designed for.

I interpreted it as he was being asked about something he was not allowed to discuss publicly.
