That's not enough. They'd have to pay me $2k to accept a black vehicle.
You know you're not supposed to tell them about stuff like this right? This falls under the "don't ask.. don't tell" ruleAs someone who is crazy enough to pay for Porsche PTS and BMW Individual colors, I selected the $2000+ number.
My wife is not happy about this lols.
God I hope not. I'm already only getting Performance for Borealis. If it costs that much, I'll downgrade and they'll lose money. It's one of the reasons why I think if you're only offering colors on certain trims, they should be a bit cheaper because you're already forcing an upgrade to get it. This is supposed to be the more price conscience car. I'm probably lower income than most of the people here just by being young and single still, but I'm already raging at how expensive everything is. Let me enjoy one nice thing without being price gouged!Honestly, seeing how much they look over Tesla's shoulder, I'd expect $1000 for the Glacier White, Half Moon Gray, Launch and Forest Green and $2,000 for the Catalina Cove, Borealis and Midnight.
Expecting $1,000-$1,500 upcharge for the white interior.
Outside of towing and tire choice, don't see many other options to keep things simple.
This is my educated guess.
While I hope I’m wrong, I don’t foresee Rivian doing any favors on colors for the higher trims. Tesla (as of last year) does not charge for colors or interiors upgrades on their performance trims. This makes the gap between their premium and performance a lot less on paper and would encourage people to at least consider the performance trim who would otherwise not. Given that R2 is Rivian’s hot new product, I doubt they will be doing something like that, though I'm with you, would be a nice incentive to move the performance models if they do. I am hoping to get the Catalina Cove with the white interior, but if this ends up adding $3,000-$4,000 more to the base price, I’m also considering a forest green with the black interior.God I hope not. Good observation. Hadn't noticed that. Makes comparisons with R2 a little trickier when Tesla is giving way paint colors for free on Performance models.Tesla (as of last year) does not charge for colors or interiors upgrades on their performance trims. This also applies when comparing to the iX3 and EX60 since both could well be cheaper for paint and interior colors which would decrease any price differential.Good observation. Hadn't noticed that. Not sure what the purpose of your poll is. I paid extra for Forest Green and then paid a lot more "extra" to have it Mat-wrapped. I love the ride, feel, and look of my truck. It makes me happy.I'm curious how cost conscious potential R2 owners are about optional paint cost.
Tesla charges $1,000 for blue and white, $1,500 for black, and $2,000 for silver and red. Gray is the included color. Black is the included interior. My first and backup preferences exactly!I am hoping to get the Catalina Cove with the white interior, but if this ends up adding $3,000-$4,000 more to the base price, I’m also considering a forest green with the black interior.
