I was curious to see how they adjusted their pricing for that bed extender, since isn't it just the EV Sportsline one? Looks like EV Sportsline raised the price to match. Which I guess is fair, since it's still a pretty good price. But for anyone thinking they can just go to another site and get it cheaper - I already looked for you. No such luck. 😜

Same price as BuiltRight on the molle panels. Nice. Now I know what to spend my points on.

They also added the Dometic coolers, but no special Rivian branding. The gear shop is becoming a third party store.
The worst part is they don't even show where they'd fit. I have a fridge that lives in the gear tunnel and its almost a perfect fit. Not quite as you have to rotate it to get it out. It also doesn't open that much when in the gear tunnel.

So they can upcharge $200 just for having a Rivian logo? No thanks.

Personally, I don't need Rivian to show me literally where to put the fridge. As long as dimensions are shown, I know how to use a ruler.

It's less about my need and more about marketing.

The gear store is really about marketing. I don't really need to buy anything from them, but I would expect them to get the marketing right.

Overall the Rivian brand does a great job with marketing.

I work in marketing. And I honestly don't think Rivian needs to dumb it down that much. We, customers, should be able to figure out where the fridge can go in our cars. If they sell it, it probably fits in at least one place.

I bet their shipping charge is less than EVsportline.

Yup, free when you spend $300
The shipping cost from EV Sportline was what stopped me from ordering their bed extender; it was something like $65. I didn't know Rivian shipping was free if your order was $300, but even if you don't get to that threshold, it is pretty reasonable, on the order of $17 to my location.

Have you tried shipping large items within last 2 years? $65 honestly seem low. A car wheel used to cost 80 coast to coast. Now at least 250. Anyone offering low or free shipping have it baked into their prices and are eating some of it.

Nobody is denying that shipping costs are high. Evsportline’s quoted shipping costs are still on the higher end of retail rates and they definitely are not paying retail rates. They also are charging separate for insurance. A single wheel does not cost 250 unless you walk into a UPS store like a knucklehead. I just quoted a wheel on pirateship (OR-MA) which probably adds 20-30%(if not more) to the corporate rate they get from UPS/USPS/FedEx and it’s well under what EVsportline quoted for shipping the same wheel from Cali to Oregon. They also charge 10x for insurance what carriers normally charge(1$ per 100$ of value). I literally could send them my own labels for 60% of what they charge for shipping.

I love seeing these in the store and have been considering the EV Sportline bed extender for some time. I don't know who is providing the off road recover kit, but $890 is ridiculously overpriced for what's included. I built my own kit with nearly everything included for under $200, excluding the duffel bag. Tracks came from Vevor, but I can't recall where I sourced the rest.
