Hi All,

I'm Bob and I just joined after putting down a reservation for an R2.

Both my wife and I are car people and currently have 6 cars which pretty much maxes out our available space to park them.

My wife works for the California Air Resources Board and has spent a lot of her time there doing outreach and education on electric vehicles. But sadly has never had one. The R2 looks like it will be able to replace our aging 4Runner and finally get us into an electric vehicle.

As I've read through the R2 forum posts, I've been impressed with the amount of info and knowledge here. Thanks all for making this forum such a great resource!

Hi everyone! New owner of a 23 quad at r1t :) first ev, first truck. Took her out to do some off-roading shortly after getting her. She got a battlescar from it but it aint bad. We also saw a few rivians making their way to the offroad trail and we all flashed our hazards at each other, so sweet! Also, I have been learning the in's and out's of ev's and ev charging... it's a whole new world for me but hey, there is no fun in being complacent!

She got her 12v replaced and the tailgate latch fixed so all her sensors are all good! Too bad i suspect some half shaft issues but nothing like a little service call or self fixing cant do!

Anyways, Im a bit of a longtime Tesla hater and I couldnt really find any other brand that speaks to me until I saw the Rivian! Im getting older and now im transitioning into a more outdoorsy lifestyle. I have been driving sedans and coupes for a long while and I needed something to tow race cars, haul some appliances and building materials, comfortably camp in during roadtrips, and something capable of 0-60in 3.5 :)

i am very happy with this truck and i am looking forward to being a part of this community!

Yeah, her co-workers question that a lot. She's had the chance to drive various electric vehicles for years, but none of them were what she wants to drive. Her daily has always been a coupe and for many years it's been a BMW coupe. Usually one that's one step down from an M.

We do some off-roading so my daily has been the one with some off-road capabilities (4Runners for the past 20 years). The rest are just toys.

The R2 looks like the first EV that won't require us to compromise. It can haul stuff (dogs and cargo) and it can go off-road. The other option would be a BMW i4 (but then it's not really a coupe).

Side note: we've had a level 2 charger in our garage for years just waiting for a chance to be used.

Obligatory newb post.

Traded my 23 Land Rover Defender 110 today for a used 23 R1T. I've been wanting to get into an EV for several years, but couldn't find what I wanted so I ordered the Defender. It was one heck of a vehicle, and I hated to let her go, but it was time to make the switch from ICE.

I've got a lot to learn, and not too much to contribute at this point. Primarily a DD, weekend boat-hauler, and lumber-yard transporter. No big mods planned.

Thanks to all for sharing your wisdom here.

There aren't any more dumb questions... I think I've asked all of them.

Seriously though, there aren't dumb questions. Ever. If you honestly need help or need knowledge, ask here and nearly all of us will try to help to the best of our abilities.

Hello! Thanks for welcoming me to the forum. I currently drive a 2021 Mach-e, and while it's been a really great car and has convinced me of the ways of the EV, I'm ready for something new. If there was a legitimate EV SUV available in 2021 I probably would have purchased that instead. The R2 is super intriguing, so I put in a reservation. I'm currently weighing the R2 vs. a Subaru Trailseeker. The R2 definitely has the specs and features I want, but the Trailseeker looks pretty darn acceptable for less money and much less wait time. Looking forward to learning more about the R2 through this forum!

I am in the same position. I have an R1 and like the software, one pedal driving and regular OTA updates. But the Trailseeker looks good and is significantly cheaper. Certainly an EV for the β€œmasses”.

I took delivery on Valentine’s Day of a 2026 R1T dual large performance in LA Silver. I am coming from a 2023 Kia EV 6 GT line. The Kia was pretty solid, just a little too small and low to the ground, but a great introduction into the EV world.

I am loving the Rivian and excited to start this new adventure. Look forward to many great discussions on this forum.

My first BEV was a 2021 Mach-e GT. I traded it in for my Rivian, but it was a great car.

Rivian is an amazing brand considering they are a totally new company. IMO the quality is on par with all the established car manufacturers. So that means there are issues, just like many had with their Mach-e vehicles, but overall the quality is excellent IMO.

Go Rivian!

R2 October 2025 deposit.

Everyone knows they are in a line, but WHERE and How long in that line seems the question everyone has.

Website will show delivery for a R1 up to 8 weeks away. I’d be happy to commit more to an R2 if some time frame was provided... 8-99 weeks delivery / That might ease the question "Where we stand in the Queue?”
