From what I can tell, the ix3 trunk space seems rather small given the size of the car. It appears the trunk space is roughly the size of the id4, which is disappointing. Much of the ix3 looks good but if theboot is as small as it appears, it would be a pass for us. The R2 trunk seems more spacious on paper.

Ugh! Just when I thought door handle design couldn't get any worse. You'll definitely be trapped in your burning car with those handles.
They have easy to operate mechanical and electric interior door handles which makes a nice change!

I like most things about the Volvo EX60 but I'm not too keen on the frameless front door windows. My past experience is that it's hard to get a good seal with that type of window. They always hiss at high speed. Maybe these are better than what I've had in the past.

The design (on exterior) is bad, but better than what Rivian and Tesla have. It is more akin to Lucid and Ford. First pull is electronic but a harder pull from the inside actives the mechanical system which allows you to get out in the event you lose power.

I'll reserve judgement until trying it in person though. That is my biggest gripe with the car. I do also wish the interior was more exciting but I will hold my opinion again until I see it in person.

The interior is of course personal preference, what is nice is that there are three color options and they are all no extra charge. That helps close any price gap with the equivalent (Premium) R2.

Agreed. I don't think the interior is bad, I just don't find it terribly exciting. Volvos always look better in person though so my mind could change.

I do think the EX60 is the winner on paper. Given that a lot is standard (likely not the case with Mercedes and BMW) and like you mentioned, colors are no extra charge (won't be the case for R2). If they have figured out their software issues, it would be the one I'd recommend.

Keep in mind the R2 prioritized 2nd row legroom so having less behind the 2nd row was a design choice. Can’t please everyone all of the time.

Configurator is live! Priced mine just under $72k.

Honestly, not terrible. Given the fact that this includes massaging seats and HUD along with the range and charging speeds, I think it's a winner.

I couldn't decide to do the M sport and the highway assistant professional. It was really weird how on the explanation for the highway assistant pro for 4 years. I am going to have to ask the dealer

Yep. $72k is pretty much fully loaded outside of the biggest wheels. If you get the basic options like tech, parking, and comfort package, you are at $66k roughly. Not bad.

As a comparison my BMW i4 M50 was almost $75k sticker, with a much smaller battery and not as good tech. However, my i4 was very discounted at that time.

Didn't even notice that. I'm hoping that its included for 4 years and then can be purchased at $2,500. Would be really frustrating to pay $2,500 now and then be asked to join a subscription later.

M Sport includes the basic driver assist package:

  • Driving Assistant Plus with Distance Control, Forward Collision Mitigation, Active Blind Spot Detection, and Lane Keeping Assistant
Essentially emergency braking, lane keep, and radar cruise control.

Not sure if you can add the Driver Assist Professional Package after purchasing or not. I'm not a fan of it only lasting 4 years.
