Does anyone know when RIVIAN will start taking orders for the 2027 R1T? Also when do u think we could start taking delivery.

My guess would be 2027. Almost certainly no major changes, so no reason to release it before the year itself.

I'm still waiting for the 2020 Tesla Roadster…

(Hell, if it even takes Slate another 24 months to start shipping their pickup, they'll have founded a vehicle manufacturer from scratch, fully designed, prototyped, and built a production line in less time than the delay from the Roadster's originally-stated production date and its actual production, which was most recently claimed to be in "late 2028.")

Do you have a reliable source stating there will be a R2T? I own the R1T and would love to see an R2T, but to my knowledge, RJ has not confirmed its existence or plans to build one. He did hint that there would be R2 variants, but we're more likely to see an R2X be the next, possibly a souped-up tri-max version with the RAD team styling and sport or off-road enhancements. Looking at the time gap between Rivian officially announcing and showing a R2S prototype and when it actually goes on sale, it would be a stretch for them and out of character to secretly develop an R2T under the radar and just spring it in the configurator.
I don't want to burst any bubbles. I want to see one come out, but it doesn't appear to be a vehicle that's too soon to be released.

I got mine in 22 and love it! I figured it was time for another one but I think we are so close to the 2027 model that I might as well wait and build the exact truck I want. I still have until September 2027 for the warranty to run out. The R2T I think would be an awesome truck also.

Agreed. I got my ‘24 R1T in August, 2024, and the ‘25 Gen 2 R1Ts were showing up in the online store at that time.

Hasn’t been the case consistently, I got my ‘22 in Dec of that year. The ‘23s weren’t delivered until Feb/Mar, but that was early and they were trying to show first year production numbers -
