Just got some new steelies wheels and tires (275/65/20) for my R1S.

The ride is softer. Acceleration is a bit slower but smoother. Regen braking takes a little longer, but is smoother too. Have not felt any rubbing.

FYI, my 22" sport dark wheels with tires are for sale (for Southern CA--pick up in South Orange County).

Ah, just saw your post about your wheels.

I'd recommend keeping your 22s. I have a spare set of 20" wheels with aggressive Mickey Thompson Baja boss for off roading fun. But my normal day to day is 22" which (I believe) look better and since that's 99% of my driving, why not keep it.

I get significantly better efficiency with my 22" with road tires (2.4mi/kw) vs. my 20s where I'm struggling to get anything higher than 1.6 during normal driving. They are also VERY heavy.

It takes me 45 minutes to swap them in my garage (even though Discount/America's Tire does it for free).

Thank you for your advice. Limited garage space… but worth considering if I find some space.

I was considering something similar, but wasn't sure about the steelies being robust enough for the weight of the vehicle. Do you happen to know how this is figured and if they are, in fact, specced coreclty for this type lof load? I was also wondering if something smaller than 20" would fit or not, from what I recall, the rotors are pretty tiny. Any idea what the offset and lug pattern are on the oens you have installed?

They looks great.

I’ve had the same tires for about 7k, they are wearing great and still smooth and quiet.

Is your living room perhaps lacking stylish side tables?
