Important part missing from your title: "When you can" expect your invite to order. At the very least, they'll let you know your approximate wait even if you can't order immediately. I'm guessing March 2027 for me with Borealis and Coastal delayed.

Haha good catch. So this is an email to expect an email about when expect an invite? SMH that seems excessive

Same email had a link for R2 test drives. But all are booked already for all of LA county. Said to check back each day as more will open up.

How far from a service center are you? That seems to be our hold up from my best guess. Minute zero reservation (x2). Current R1 owner. But over 100 miles from service center. Coincidently there are no demo vehicles in all of Oregon. Seems like we are the forgotten corner here.

I’m in west LA so should be good. Also a minute zero reservation, but do not currently own a Rivian. I think there’s probably a lot of folks in LA scheduling test drives.

Got the same email as well, day 1 reservation holder who ordered within a few minutes of it opening up online. Don't own an R1, live within 20 miles of a service center.

There appear to have been three different emails that Rivian sent out yesterday (in descending order of priority):

1. Invitation to order
2. "You will be invited to order in a few weeks, keep an eye on your email"
3. The OP's email (I got the same one): "We'll let you know when you can expect your invite by the end of June"

[Edit to add: I have an early day 2 reservation (~18 hours after reservations opened), I live 15 mins from a service + demo center, and I am an R1T owner]

This reminds me a lot of the R1 release and Rivian doing a poor job of setting expectations and relatively poor communication.

They issued a launch date. They know their reservation backlog. They know their current production capability. Some sort of update should have been given to all reservation holders on day 1. (Not a 'we'll update you in a few weeks')

With that said, and speaking with our service center yesterday, while dropping off our R1, it sounds like certain areas will take priority over others. I found our out service center (Sterling, VA) can't do customer delivers. All deliveries in the DC area must go to Gaithersburg. That center is always at capacity. So we'll see how long this takes.

We've been through this before. I just thought Rivian would have gotten better at this.

Data point: Late April 2026 reservation and I got the 2nd one.
