I didn’t try driving with it. I’d imagine it will be similar to the R1S. Complains a bit unless you put it in rear-accessory mode.Perfect, how did it respond to the assist systems when in reverse?
I keep it that tight on my R1S with thousands of miles on the back with multiple different mountain bikes with 800+ mm bars and zero issues (Revel, Ari, Mondraker). Are you using a 1Up?I’d recommend moving it further from the bumper. My bike handle bar and pedal have scratched the lift gate after a big bump on the highway and it was positioned further than yours.
I didn’t. But I don’t see why it would be very different from our R1S that’s had zero issues (in fact, R2 might be even better as the R2 is shorter hitch to top of car). Thanks for posting! I'm wondering if there is enough room between back of vehicle and pedals/handlebars without using a hitch extender. Did you try loading a bike?
yes, the heavy duty one. If your highways are smooth you may be ok. Not the situation on I80 between Sac and SF. One big drop and you will see and hear your bike moving.I keep it that tight on my R1S with thousands of miles on the back with multiple different mountain bikes with 800+ mm bars and zero issues (Revel, Ari, Mondraker). Crazy. I literally off-road to trails and no issue. Wonder what’s different between our two setups? Either way though, like you said, recommend people pay close attention.yes, the heavy duty one.
