However, I am not sure you can draw a conclusion from 10 vehicles. Especially when the efficiency differences are so small between the tires. There are so many variables that impact efficiency, and that number is an average that has no controls over the other variables that impact efficiency.

Why is there such a big difference on the 21" wheels compared to the 22" wheels? I think because there are other variables that have impacted the efficiency of those 10 vehicles that are more significant than the tires. IDK.

Rivian changed how they calculate EPA ratings with G2. WRT range accuracy, they were like BMW with G1, with G2, they are between BMW and Tesla. G2 gets similar range from smaller battery. Some were real improvements, some weren't.21" wheels are also Gen 1 only. They were magic, it was the only setup I would routinely hit my rated efficiency on. My Gen 2 almost never does.

This is by no means complete description, but there is a standard test that everyone does on rolling road. It's never done on real roads. Everyone multiplies this range by a number that they think/claim/want to reflect real range. This is where gaming of the system happens. I don't think anyone is verifying this number. Sometimes, there is a class action lawsuit after a few years. I believe Hyundai, Kia and VW had lawsuits regarding this.
