Scary big list of released bugs indicating poor quality control at Rivian. Majority of those bugs (not added functions) should be detected by software developers.
Not necessarily. Sometimes you only hit rare bugs the more people who use it and sometimes people will try things you don't think about. Like Kyle wanting heating and ventilated seats at the same time. I wouldn't think to do that so you may not write code for that so the existing code has to figure it out or make an error. Remember what Einstein said, "There are only two things infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not to sure about the universe." Programming is complicated where you have to anticipate what people will do or try and there will always be people who do something you never considered.

How long would a 128GB drive record for, approximately? Obviously this depends on how much you drive (for road cam) and how often motion cam is triggered, but empirically, how much history are people getting on their drives? Wondering if I need more than the 128GB minimum to store a decent amount of history and/or reduce wear on the SSD.
Note that there is no “wear” on an SSD - solid state = no moving parts. Not like a hard drive = spinning media and moving heads. SAD is just solid state memory (bits) turning on or off.

This is not true. While there generally is no mechanical wear, SSD are only rated for a specific number of writes, which cause chemical wear. Heat can also cause 'wear' leading to premature failure.

it looks like there is internal storage that gear guard uses. Just picked up my R2 yesterday and saw this out after I returned home and started going through the settings.

It uses internal storage for all of the motion cam events. You can save selected videos from motion cam to your external device if you'd like, but otherwise the external device is only for Road Cam.
